You Won’t Believe What This Officer Did for a Young Boy Selling Lemonade

Who doesn’t enjoy a classic lemonade stand?

There’s something special about finding a child excitedly waiting to sell you a cup of refreshing lemonade on a sunny day.

Recently, a young boy named Landen was selling lemonade and cookies near his home when a police officer came over to him. The boy’s grandmother recorded their meeting and shared it on Facebook.

“Sometimes we focus too much on the bad experiences we have, but I feel grateful for officer J. Perez from Ansonia PD,” she wrote.

Officer Perez from the Ansonia Police Department in Connecticut stopped to talk with Landen. He asked the boy what he wanted to do with the money he made from selling lemonade.

Landen told him he wanted to buy blue sneakers for school.

After their chat, Officer Perez continued on his way.

A little while later, Officer Perez came back to Landen’s lemonade stand. This time, he had a surprise for the seven-year-old—a pair of blue sneakers.

Landen was so excited!

“He made my baby’s day and made him feel like a king,” said Wendelyn Narvaez, talking about Officer Perez.

A few days later, Narvaez shared a photo of Landen proudly wearing his new sneakers.

Ansonia Police Chief Wayne Williams praised Officer Perez’s kindness, saying that officers like him “are the types of officers we all want to hire.”

This shows how true it is that we often hear about the bad things police officers do, but not the good things. Officer Perez’s gesture was very kind.
