Pamela Anderson Stirs Controversy at the Golden Globes

Pamela Anderson looked amazing at the 82nd Golden Globes on Sunday (January 5). The Baywatch star attended the event wearing very little makeup, sparking conversations about her natural beauty.

Pamela wore a stylish black gown by Oscar de la Renta with a ruched bodice and matching opera gloves.

She was nominated for her role in The Last Showgirl and had earlier spoken about her decision to stop wearing makeup.

Pamela said going makeup-free made her feel “free,” although it took her time to embrace her natural beauty.

She completed her look with black heels, a clutch, and jewelry from Pandora, including a necklace, earrings, and bracelet. Still, her minimal makeup was the main focus of the night.

Some people criticized her look, saying she wasn’t completely makeup-free.

“She’s definitely cheating on the no-makeup rule,” one person commented.

“You can see she’s wearing light makeup, like foundation, brow pencil, and lip gloss,” another wrote. “But she looks beautiful regardless.”

Others, however, praised the 57-year-old actress for her classy look and her nomination.

For most of her career, Pamela was known for her bold smoky eye makeup and glossy lips. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in The Last Showgirl.

Speaking with Drew Barrymore last October, Pamela explained her decision to ditch makeup. It started when she felt she had been “playing characters” her whole life.

“I wanted to remember who I really was,” she shared. “I was painfully shy as a kid, and even doing Playboy was hard for me, but I didn’t want to feel shy anymore.”

She continued, “I created all these characters—what I thought a model, a playmate, or a rock star’s wife should be. But a couple of years ago, I started asking myself, ‘Who am I?’”

Pamela first gained attention for her bare-faced look at Paris Fashion Week in 2023. At the time, she didn’t think anyone would notice, but her choice sent a positive message.

“I feel free without makeup,” she said. “It’s taken a while to get here, but we’re all our own worst critics.”

Pamela attended the event with her 28-year-old son, Brandon Thomas, whom she shares with ex-husband Tommy Lee.

In the film The Last Showgirl, directed by Gia Coppola, Pamela plays a seasoned showgirl dealing with life after her show ends. The movie was also nominated for Best Original Song for Beautiful That Way by Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li, and Andrew Wyatt.
