Selena Gomez LOSES 700K Followers Overnight – The Shocking Reason Why!
|Selena Gomez has reportedly lost over 700,000 Instagram followers after posting a video reacting to Donald Trump’s new executive orders.
Since taking office nearly two weeks ago, President Trump has made several big changes to how the U.S. is run.
The 47th president has already changed immigration laws and even renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Singer Selena Gomez seemed very upset about these new orders. She shared a video of herself crying online last month.
Trump signed an executive order that could impact and deport millions of people, and Gomez said she was scared for them.
Looking emotional, the 32-year-old said: “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
She later deleted the video and posted another message: “Apparently it’s not okay to show empathy for people.”
CritiqueJeu recently checked Gomez’s social media and found that she had lost over 700,000 Instagram followers in the last 30 days.
According to the Daily Mail, Paul Lenglet, co-founder and editor of CritiqueJeu, said: “Selena Gomez ended 2024 on a high note, but 2025 has been much harder for her.
“The star has been criticized for her role in Emilia Pérez, a film made in Paris but based on a story set in Mexico.”
After looking at data from all of Gomez’s social media, CritiqueJeu reported that she had lost 808,500 followers in the last 30 days.
Former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan was appointed ‘border czar’ in Trump’s administration. He is now in charge of immigration enforcement in the U.S.
Homan explained that the military has been sent to help at the Mexican border. He said Trump is “sending a strong message to the world that our border is closed.”
“If you’re in the country illegally, you’re at risk of being deported because breaking the law is not okay,” he said.
“Every time you enter this country illegally, you commit a crime under Title Eight, United States Code 1325. It’s a crime.”
Trump’s new executive orders include stricter immigration rules.
The 78-year-old president said he plans to carry out the “largest deportation program in history,” estimating that “maybe as many as 20 million” people could be deported.
“We will begin sending millions of criminal aliens back to their home countries,” he said.
Who is being deported?
Trump said that migrants accused of crimes will be the first to be deported. However, any migrant who is in the U.S. illegally could also be removed.
The policy also allows authorities to arrest undocumented migrants who haven’t committed crimes but happen to be near those who have. This is called a “collateral arrest.”
Trump’s administration said that deportations would begin “very quickly.” However, he may need Congress to approve extra funding to carry out the plan.
