Man Put Grandma in a Nursing Home—Her Final Revenge Left Him Speechless!

A grandmother was tricked and left in a nursing home by her beloved grandson. She decided to teach him a lesson and left him an envelope with some money and a letter that would haunt him forever after her death.

One day, 74-year-old Gloria was sipping coffee by her window when her caretaker, Sophie, rushed in. “Mrs. Watson, your grandson is here to see you!”

Gloria had not seen any visitors for over a year. When she heard Todd was there, she was not excited because she knew why he had come. It was always about money. That was all he and his wife Natasha cared about.

“Mrs. Watson, do you need help to go to the lobby, or shall I take you there?”

“I’ll take care of it, dear. My grandson can wait. I need to get ready. I must look my best since I haven’t seen him in a long time,” Gloria said as she searched her cupboard for a nice dress. As she went through her clothes, she thought deeply and began to cry.

“I should have never trusted him,” she thought. “That was my biggest mistake. If only I had known their plan earlier, I wouldn’t be here today.”

Gloria could not hold back her tears when she remembered their betrayal.

Five years ago, Gloria lived alone in the house she inherited from her late husband. Todd was married and lived separately with Natasha. He only visited his grandmother once a year at most.

But suddenly, he started visiting her more often. She was happy with the attention. Then, one day, he came to her and said, “Grandma, Natasha needs surgery. I have run out of savings. I would be so grateful if you could help us pay for her treatment.”

Gloria loved Todd deeply and wanted to do anything to help him. She felt her house was nothing compared to his needs.

Without thinking twice, she sold the house and moved in with Todd and Natasha. She had no idea they were lying. Natasha was not sick and needed no surgery. They just wanted money for an expensive vacation to Hawaii.

Todd and Natasha thought they had gotten away with their plan.

Three weeks later, the couple returned home and pretended they had been at the hospital.

“Grandma! I’m starving. Are you baking bread? It smells so good! Can we eat?” Todd said as he helped Natasha sit. “Careful, hun. The doctor said you shouldn’t strain yourself.”

Gloria was so happy to see them. Even though she was old, she helped Natasha with housework so she could rest.

One day, while Gloria was tending to her plants, she overheard Natasha talking to a friend about sending her away.

“Ugh! She is such a burden. All she does is read books and newspapers,” Natasha complained.

“That’s annoying. Does she know about your Hawaii trip?” the friend asked.

“No way! She thinks Todd and I were in the hospital. We lied about my surgery. But I’ll get rid of her soon. My sister is coming for the holidays, and I need the guest room empty.”

Gloria was in shock. She had no idea Todd had lied to her. She had trusted him completely and never imagined he would betray her.

“I’m sorry, Thomas. I shouldn’t have sold our house,” she cried as she held her late husband’s photo.

But it was too late. Even if she wanted to, she could not change the past.

Gloria never confronted Todd about what she heard. She knew it wouldn’t change anything. However, she couldn’t forget Natasha’s words about “sending her away.”

A few days later, Todd and Natasha approached Gloria with a brochure about a nursing home.

“This place looks amazing. But why are you showing this to me?” Gloria asked.

Todd hesitated and looked at Natasha. She gave him a look, signaling him to speak.

“Grandma, Natasha and I are planning to have a baby. Our doctor said this is the right time,” Todd began as Gloria turned pale. She could already guess what he was going to say.

“I’m also switching jobs, and we won’t have enough space or time to care for you. So, we think it’s best for you to stay somewhere nice. This nursing home has great amenities. Trust me, it’s a wonderful place. I’ll visit often. You can count on me.”

The truth hit Gloria like a brick. She wanted to go back to her late husband’s house, but it was already sold. She had no choice but to pack her bags and agree to their decision.

The next week, Todd dropped her off at the nursing home, promising to visit soon. But that “soon” came only once a year during the holidays.

For five years, Gloria lived with the painful truth.

“Mrs. Watson, your grandson is waiting in the lobby,” Sophie reminded her.

“I’ll be there in two minutes. Thank you, dear.”

It had been over a year since Todd’s last visit. The last time he came was during Christmas, bringing some clothes and blankets. Since it was not Christmas, Gloria knew he had come for something else.

“Oh, why didn’t I think of this before?” she sighed.

A few weeks ago, Gloria had inherited money from her late cousin Donovan. Since he was wealthy, Gloria received a large sum. It was enough for her to buy a new house if she wanted.

“I hope you’re not here for this,” she thought as she walked to the lobby and saw Todd smiling with open arms.

“Grandma! I missed you so much!” Todd hugged her. “And how are things here? Everything okay?”

“I’m fine, dear. Thank you. How is Natasha? Is she pregnant?”

Todd’s smile faded, and he hesitated before answering.

“We tried, grandma, but she has a complication. She needs surgery again. We really want a baby, but this surgery is necessary first,” he said, pausing.

“And?” Gloria asked.

“Grandma, I spent all my savings on her treatment. I don’t have enough left for the operation. I came to ask if you could help us.”

Gloria already knew he was lying. She was heartbroken that Todd was trying to fool her again.

What hurt her even more was that she knew she didn’t have much time left. She had been diagnosed with cancer. She was not afraid of dying, but she was troubled by Todd’s greed. She decided to teach him a lesson.

“Grandma? Will you help us?” Todd asked impatiently.

“Ah, dear, I don’t think I can help this time. I need surgery too. If I don’t get it, I won’t live much longer. Tell me—who needs surgery more, me or Natasha?”

Todd hesitated but then said, “Grandma, this isn’t about whose life is more important. Natasha is still young and has a long future ahead.”

Gloria was devastated. Todd didn’t care about her at all.

She told him to return the next day for her answer.

That night, Gloria could not sleep. She cried, hoping Todd would realize his mistake.

But when Todd returned the next morning, he repeated his request for money.

Gloria was ready with her plan.

“Dear, I haven’t received my inheritance yet. It takes time because of legal paperwork. But I can still help you. Why don’t you mortgage your house? When I get my money, I will pay you back.”

Todd was delighted and agreed immediately.

Days later, Gloria asked Sophie to check Todd’s social media. She saw photos of Todd and Natasha vacationing in the Maldives.

She felt betrayed again. Not long after, her health worsened, and she passed away two weeks later.

Before she died, she made sure to teach Todd one last lesson.

The next day, Todd received an envelope from Gloria’s lawyer. He thought it contained a check but found only $50 and a note.

“Todd, I knew you lied about Natasha’s surgery. Money cannot buy love and happiness. I hope you learn kindness. That’s why I arranged for you to work at the nursing home where I lived. Do it for a year, and you’ll get my inheritance. If not, the money goes to the home. Good luck. Love, Grandma.”

Todd was furious. He had no idea she left all her money to the nursing home, and the only way to get it was to fulfill her last wish.
