Lip reader ‘reveals’ JD Vance’s three-word threat as Donald Trump delivered Congressional address

A professional lip reader has analyzed Vice President JD Vance’s supposed three-word remark made as Donald Trump delivered his speech to Congress earlier this week.

The nearly 100-minute address by the U.S. president was packed with key statements, including his assertion that Vladimir Putin has shown “strong signals” toward peace and his revelation of a letter received from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid recent turmoil in the Oval Office.

Vance was present at the Capitol for the address on Tuesday, March 4, where a hot mic caught his one-line critique just before Trump began speaking.

In a clip from the event, Vance is seen greeting House Speaker Mike Johnson, with Johnson joking that the two had managed to avoid wearing the same tie.

The House Speaker then quickly remarked:
“By the way, I think the speech is going to be great. But I don’t know how you do this for 90 minutes.”

According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, Vance responded with the phrase “a full reckoning”, adding that such an event was “long overdue”.

Controversy Over Ukraine Comments

This comes as Vice President Vance faces criticism on social media following comments he made about U.S. support for Ukraine.

Vance has been accused of disrespecting France and the UK after remarks he made in a recent interview.

Speaking with Fox News earlier this week, he stated:
“The president understands that if you want real U.S. security guarantees, if you truly want to ensure that Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the best way to do that is by giving Americans an economic stake in Ukraine’s future. That is a much stronger guarantee than one from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years.”

Many online users were quick to point out that the UK and France are the only two nations that have pledged troops for a potential peacekeeping force in Ukraine. His comment sparked backlash, with some feeling it undermined the sacrifices of British and French troops.

One Twitter user reacted by saying:
“JD Vance’s claim that the UK hasn’t fought a war in 30-40 years insults the 600+ British troops who died in Iraq and Afghanistan alongside Americans. Disrespectful to their sacrifice and our alliance. Time for an apology, not ignorance.”

Further Exchanges Between Vance and Johnson

Vance later responded to Johnson, saying: “We could have coordinated, I guess, but…” before pausing and leaning in to whisper something that wasn’t clearly picked up on audio.

Leaning back, he added:
“By the way, I think the speech is going to be great. But I don’t know how you do this for 90 minutes.
