A Mother’s Heartbreaking Announcement
Whitney, who first captured national attention during the reality show’s first season, shared the tragic update with a series of heartfelt photos of her and Weston. In her emotional post dated June 2, 2025, she wrote:
“This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand. Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself.”
She continued with raw, painful honesty:
“He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real.”
“I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling.”

“Rest in Peace, my baby Weston. I love you forever, precious. I’ll never understand why life has to be so cruel. You’ll always be my baby.”
Family Speaks Out Amidst Unimaginable Grief
While Whitney has not shared the official cause of death, Weston’s stepmother Amy offered additional details in her own Facebook post. She revealed that Weston was discovered unresponsive around 7 a.m. and was rushed to Gordon County Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
“All we know is we got up this morning and tried to wake him. He was not breathing,” Amy wrote. “We attempted CPR and called an ambulance. Paramedics also tried, but it was too late.”
She further explained:
“Weston had several health conditions, including diabetes. His passing was sudden and unexpected. We are completely heartbroken and in shock.”
“He was the most amazing son I could have asked for. Brilliant, funny, full of potential… Please keep Whitney and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn such a brilliant, amazing life.”
Weston’s Life in the Spotlight
Born on April 2, 2009, Weston was introduced to audiences as a baby when his parents, Whitney Purvis and Weston Gosa Sr., appeared on 16 and Pregnant. Their story touched millions, and while their relationship saw ups and downs, they shared two sons together: Weston Jr. and River, born in 2014.
In the years that followed, Whitney faced legal and personal challenges, including losing custody of her children. Most recently, she was reportedly arrested in 2024 for failing to pay child support, according to TMZ.
