Chris Martin Accidentally Sparks Cheating Scandal at Coldplay Concert And the Internet Can’t Look Away

Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin unintentionally ignited a social media firestorm during the band’s recent stop at Gillette Stadium in Boston — and the moment has since gone viral for all the wrong (and hilarious) reasons.

While performing in front of more than 65,000 fans, the band’s iconic “kiss cam” panned across the crowd and landed on a seemingly cozy couple swaying with their arms wrapped around each other. Chris, ever the playful showman, decided to narrate the scene with cheeky commentary.

“Ooh, look at these two,” Martin teased, mimicking a nature documentary narrator.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy!”

The audience erupted in gasps and laughter — and that was just the beginning.

From Concert Cam to Viral Chaos

As the alleged couple squirmed under the spotlight, attempting to duck out of view, eagle-eyed fans online quickly claimed to have identified them as Andy Byron, CEO of AI firm Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer.

Within hours, TikTok clips of the awkward moment exploded in popularity, with one video racking up nearly 6 million views and thousands of comments — many sarcastic, others stunned.

Fallout: Wife Deletes Facebook, Internet Reacts

As the video circulated, users unearthed the Facebook profile of Megan Kerrigan Byron — Andy’s alleged wife — which mysteriously disappeared shortly after the clip went viral. Before deactivating her account, Megan reportedly removed her last name from her profile.

Backlash was swift and merciless. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote:

“Coldplay hasn’t made a single in years — last night, they made two.”

Another joked:

“What’s worse, finding out your spouse is cheating… or that they’re a fan of Coldplay?”

Even Chris Martin appeared to realize the gravity of what he’d accidentally sparked. In a follow-up clip from the same concert, he nervously told the crowd:

“I hope we didn’t do something bad…”

 Fake Statements and Corporate Silence

A fake “statement” from Andy Byron soon began making the rounds, prompting Astronomer to deny its authenticity. As of now, no official comment has been released by Byron or Cabot.

Notably, both hold high-ranking positions at the tech company, valued at $1.2 billion. Byron has served as CEO since July 2023, while Cabot joined as Chief People Officer in November 2024. A LinkedIn post celebrating her hiring — once praising her “exceptional leadership” — has reportedly been deleted.

 Chris Martin Learns His Lesson

In the days following the incident, Chris Martin appears to have taken a more cautious approach. At a subsequent show, he was seen asking fans caught on the kiss cam:

“Ok, now listen… are you two a couple? A legitimate couple?”

The internet didn’t miss a beat.

“Chris Martin is low-key traumatized 😂,” commented one user.
“His lawyers probably told him to ask first 💀,” another added.

 Coldplay’s Record-Breaking Tour Rolls On

Despite the unexpected drama, Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour continues its historic run. Launched in 2022, the tour is set to wrap up on September 8, 2025, with a final show at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Upcoming stops include Madison, Nashville, and Miami, before the band heads back to the UK for their highly anticipated August shows.

Last month, the band surprised fans in Texas by performing “Speed of Sound” — a hit from their 2005 album X&Y — for the first time in nine years.
