Boy Slips a Note to a Cop—What It Says Makes Him Jump Out of His Seat!
|In April, police officer Eddie Benitez went to have breakfast at a restaurant in Lakeland, Florida. He didn’t know that a little boy sitting nearby had something special to tell him.

The boy was shy and couldn’t speak to Officer Benitez directly, so he decided to write a message on his receipt instead.
When Officer Benitez read the note, he was so touched that he immediately got up and went to talk to the boy and his mother.
Nine-year-old Noah was having breakfast with his mom when he noticed Officer Benitez at another table. He felt nervous and didn’t know how to approach him.
Noah’s mother, Amanda Cantin, saw that her son was very interested in the officer and asked him why. Noah told her he wanted to say something but was too shy.
Then Noah got an idea. He had saved his birthday money and decided to use it to pay for Officer Benitez’s meal. His mom helped him talk to a waiter, and soon they had the officer’s receipt. Noah wrote a message on it, then ran over and placed it on the officer’s table.
When Officer Benitez read the note, he was deeply moved. It said, **“I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service.”**
Noah and his mom watched as Officer Benitez looked surprised. A moment later, he walked straight over to their table.
Officer Benitez thanked Noah and asked if they could take a photo together.
Later, Officer Benitez spoke about the moment, saying, **“It meant everything. It meant that I was supposed to wake up every morning, put on this uniform, and do what I do. It means I need to keep trying to be a good example for these young kids.”**
Noah has wanted to be a police officer for the last four years.
“I’m going to make the world a better place and catch the bad guys,” he told Inside Edition.
The Lakeland Police Department was so impressed by Noah’s kindness that they shared a photo of him and Officer Benitez on their Facebook page to honor him.
