Jodie Foster got into trouble for something she said about Gen-Z (the generation of young people born in the late 1990s and early 2000s). Now, she’s speaking up to explain herself.
|Jodie Foster is a famous actress loved by many, but it seems that some young people from Gen-Z didn’t like a comment she made about them.
Jodie Foster is known for being honest about her feelings. In an interview with The Guardian, she admitted that working with Gen-Z can be challenging for her. She mentioned that they can be annoying, especially at work, saying things like, “I don’t feel like working until 10:30 a.m.” She also pointed out that they sometimes ignore grammar and spelling in emails, saying, “Isn’t that kind of limiting?”
The actress who won an Academy Award doesn’t seem very happy with how the newest generation works. But, she doesn’t want to upset or lose the support of young people. On the red carpet at the 81st Golden Globes, she explained her earlier comments.
She said that she loves the newest generation, especially because her two sons are a part of it. She appreciates the freedom they have, which is something she and others didn’t have when they were young. She thinks it has made them confident and authentic people but also mentioned there are some challenges.
During the interview, someone else spoke up and said working with Gen-Z can be “very difficult sometimes.” Jodie Foster agreed with an emphatic “Yes.”
She added a funny comment, saying, “But you need them to make your phone work. What can I say?”
It seems her earlier comment about being annoyed with Gen-Z didn’t sit well, and she felt the need to clarify in the interview. People have different opinions, and it’s okay to share them.
