The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park recently announced its closure, sharing the news in a statement on Facebook. The park’s owners expressed their sadness, saying, “It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of LEMX. Due to a lawsuit from a tragic accident that occurred in June, the property owner has ended our agreement, as they are also involved in the lawsuit.”

The park representatives noted that this decision was the best option for the property owner. They shared that while running the park had been challenging, it was a deeply fulfilling experience.

The closure comes after a tragic incident five months ago that led to the passing of 9-year-old Brooke Carlton. On June 4, Brooke tragically died following a collision with another rider on the track. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Brooke suffered serious injuries in the accident and was later pronounced dead at Inland Valley Medical Center at 11:24 a.m. The accident happened around 10 a.m. when Brooke, on an electric bike, collided with another young rider.

Bystanders quickly attempted CPR until paramedics arrived, but sadly, Brooke did not survive her injuries. The other young rider involved had only minor injuries.

Following Brooke’s passing, family friend Ally Giles set up a GoFundMe page to support her family during this painful time. The fundraiser aims to help her parents, Jason and Angie, as they cope with the loss of their daughter.

In a touching message on the page, Brooke’s parents wrote, “Yesterday, the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track. Our family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we firmly believe that God needed her and called her home to be with him.”

Family friend Ally shared loving memories of Brooke, describing her as a sweetheart who loved her family, her dog Gunner, and her brother Landon. Ally recalled Brooke’s cheerful smile, her bright curls, and her strong-willed nature. She said Brooke’s sparkling eyes and warm smile could make anyone feel special and even convince them to buy her an ice cream.

After Brooke’s passing, the motorsports park announced a special ride in her memory, describing it as a way to honor her joyful spirit and unite the community. In a statement on Instagram, park officials called it an unfortunate accident and expressed deep sadness over the loss.

Brooke was also a member of Go Fast Girls, an apparel brand that celebrates a fast-paced lifestyle for female racers and encourages girls to push boundaries in motorsports. Brooke’s profile on the brand’s page highlighted her love for racing, where she wrote, “I just started racing motocross in the Southern California area, and I’m gearing up to race BMX too! I love being out on the track, competing with other girls, and going fast!”
