Man Teases Wife for Gaining Weight After Baby, Finds Her Diary and Regrets It Forever
|A man mocks his wife for gaining weight after having twins, but he realizes how wrong he is when she faints and is rushed to the hospital one day.
Lisa Thompson had always been great at managing both her job and home. She worked as an accountant at a well-known firm in Santa Clara, California, and despite her busy schedule, her house was always in great shape.
Every morning, she would wake up at 5 a.m., make breakfast for herself and her husband Chad, go to work, and return home in time to cook dinner.
Chad was supportive and often helped around the house. But things changed after Lisa gave birth.
Lisa and Chad had been happily married for three years. After trying for a baby for several years, Lisa finally found out she was pregnant with twins. They were both ecstatic.
After the birth, Lisa decided to take a break from work to care for the babies and stay home as a full-time mom. But while she saw it as time to bond with her children, Chad saw it as laziness.
“All you do is sit on the couch, Lisa. Why don’t you try working out? You’ve gained so much weight after the pregnancy! Losing a few pounds wouldn’t hurt you!” he would mock her.
Lisa often felt hurt and upset by Chad’s lack of appreciation for her role as a stay-at-home mom, but she tried to ignore it, thinking it was just his stress from work.
However, she started to feel like Chad was losing interest in her and their marriage. He didn’t seem to care about anything, and when she tried to spend time with him, he avoided it and went to bed early. Lisa knew she needed to talk to him before things got worse.
One day, she confronted him.
“Honey, I know you’ve been busy with work, but we agreed not to hide things from each other,” she said gently. “I’ve noticed something’s wrong.”
Chad shrugged. “It’s nothing, Lisa. Everything’s fine,” he replied, not looking away from his laptop.
“Are you sure? I mean, I’ve noticed…” she said.
“What have you noticed?” Chad shouted. “Why do you have to interfere with everything? Maybe you should spend more time on yourself. When was the last time you even looked at yourself in the mirror?”
Lisa almost started crying. “Chad!”
“Are you going to cry now and make me look like the bad guy? Fine, go ahead! Look at your friends and look at yourself. Why can’t you just lose some weight? Tell me, are you doing this on purpose to make me leave you? Are you seeing someone else?” he snapped.
“Are you serious, Chad? Do you think I’m cheating on you?”
Lisa was tired of his constant mocking of her weight. He yelled at her about her appearance and questioned her actions, making her feel worse. As Chad stormed off, Lisa sat there speechless, feeling crushed.
Later, Chad was working in their room when he heard a loud thump. He rushed to check and found Lisa unconscious on the floor. “Lisa! What’s wrong?” he cried, but she didn’t wake up. Panicking, he called 911 and rushed her to the hospital.
He asked their neighbor, Mrs. Clemments, to look after the twins while he was gone. The doctors said Lisa had collapsed due to stress and exhaustion.
Chad sat on the bed, his face in his hands, regretting his harsh words. He wondered why things had gotten so bad. How could she be weak? She’d been resting at home all this time. He was still upset as he started cleaning the bed, but something on the floor caught his attention. It was a diary.
He opened the diary, thinking it wasn’t right to read it, but his curiosity got the best of him. The first page described how happy Lisa was when their twins were born.
For a while, Chad forgot about everything bothering him as he read page after page, smiling at the sweet details about their children. But then, one entry made him stop smiling.
Lisa had written about feeling disconnected from Chad. “I don’t know if I did something wrong, but Chad seems distant lately. Maybe it’s just stress from work.”
As Chad flipped through more pages, he felt more guilty. One entry shocked him.
Lisa had written about feeling bad because Chad mocked her weight gain. She was trying to lose weight but felt he didn’t notice her efforts. She had even signed up for a gym and was following a strict diet, but it made her feel sick.
Reading this made Chad realize how blind he had been. He had mocked her when she was already struggling, and he hadn’t seen her efforts.
The next day, Chad went to the hospital with flowers and a card that said, “Get well soon, honey! The kids and I miss you! Home isn’t the same without you.”
Lisa was touched. “Thank you, Chad,” she whispered, her eyes welling up.
Chad hugged her and apologized. “I was wrong, Lisa. You are beautiful the way you are. I’m sorry for everything I said.”
When Lisa was discharged, Chad surprised her with a candlelight dinner. The room was beautifully decorated, and soft music played in the background. He asked her to dance, and they shared a kiss.
From that night on, Chad changed. He started helping around the house, taking Lisa out on weekends, and always telling her, “I love you for who you are.”
Lisa still goes to the gym, but now she focuses on getting healthier, not just losing weight.
