Royal expert Jennie Bond told the *Mirror* that the Prince and Princess of Wales “must be acutely aware” of the issues Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte might face as “spares.”

“They’ve already shown a modern approach to raising their royal children, and I’m sure they will make sure Charlotte and Louis feel just as special, loved, and valued as George,” Bond told the *Mirror*.

“I imagine they’ll encourage Louis to explore opportunities outside the royal duties—maybe the military, charity work, or whatever he finds interesting after school. I’m also sure they’ll support him going to university, which they both enjoyed and where, of course, they found love.”

The royal expert continued: “From there, William and Kate will want Louis to find a meaningful life, fitting for the son of a future King. They’ll work to ensure he feels he’s living a valuable life, no matter his place in the line of succession. They’ve emphasized that service and empathy are important, not only as a kindness to others but as something rewarding for him as well.”

As Bond suggested, William and Kate might encourage Louis to explore his passions outside of royal life. If he chooses to stay within the royal family, he will likely take on an important role and receive significant titles.

But Bond isn’t the only one suggesting Prince Louis might do more than just royal duties. In an interview with *OK!* via *Yahoo*, royal expert Camilla Tominey, who is also an associate editor at *The Telegraph*, said William and Kate would want Charlotte and Louis to “have their own careers” if they prefer.

“William and Kate don’t want history to repeat itself, with Prince Louis becoming just a royal ‘hanger-on’ like the Duke of York,” Tominey told *The Telegraph*.

“Many of the more minor royals have their own careers and are not funded by taxpayers,” she added. “The way the Cambridges have tried to give their children a more normal life suggests that, while Prince George has his future mapped out, Charlotte and Louis could have their own careers if they choose.”

Tominey concluded: “William and Kate need to balance what their children want to do with their lives and their royal duties.”

“We might see fewer royals in the future than we’re used to. But the question is, will there be enough royals to handle everything?”

In an interview with *Hello! Magazine*, parenting expert Jo Frost said that William and Kate would never let Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis feel like they are just “heir and spare” to Prince George.

“In their family, it wouldn’t be about an ‘heir and spare.’ It would be about all of them being equally important. They understand it takes teamwork to support the monarchy.”
