Ricki Lake, the former talk show host, posted a picture that some people found inappropriate.

Ricki Lake is really happy these days, and she wanted to share that with everyone. She posted a selfie on Instagram where she’s smiling and sitting in an outdoor tub surrounded by tall trees. In the picture, she’s not wearing any clothes, but she looks happy. Ricki, who is 54 years old, wrote that these days are the best of her life.

Ricki Lake, who is 54 and a half years old (she calls it young!), is feeling grateful. She’s thankful for everything that happened in her life to bring her to this point where she fully accepts and loves herself.

Her journey to self-love started in 2019, but she only told the public about it in 2022. In December 2022, she shared a video that no one had seen before. In the video, she’s shaving her head. The footage is from 2019. In the description, she talked about her 30-year struggle with androgenetic alopecia, which is what caused her hair loss.

“I’ve never shared this raw video footage before, but I felt like I wanted to now, for those of you who have followed my story and have been invested in it,” Ricki wrote. “Some of you know my struggle all too well personally, and I want you to know, I truly feel you.”

In a video, you can watch me reach a point where I feel peaceful, free, and, most importantly, where I love and accept myself.

After I shaved my head, my hair has grown back. Now, I’m okay with having natural gray hair that can be a bit wild and unruly sometimes.

I hope all of you dealing with your own struggles can also find peace and acceptance. Life is too short for anything else.

Some people think the picture is not appropriate, but Ricki Lake is standing by her decision and not changing her mind.

One person commented, “I don’t get why anyone has to show themselves like this! LOL,” and another said, “That’s all well and fine, but why do we have to see it, just wondering. So putting a photo of yourself basically nude online seems really weird to me. Just my opinion.”

Ricki Lake didn’t reply to these comments, and she didn’t seem bothered by them. Everyone has the choice to follow creators they like and respect their freedom to share what they want.

What do you think about her decision to post this online?

We believe her main point is super important! Worrying about things beyond our control is a waste of time. Learning to accept and love oneself, flaws and all, is a skill we should all develop!
