54-Year-Old ‘Love Letter’ Star Found Dead—Fans Are Heartbroken!
|Reports have revealed that Miho Nakayama, the star of Love Letter, was found dead in her home on December 6, 2024, after she failed to show up for work on Friday. She was 54 years old and is survived by her young son and ex-husband.
Nakayama’s body was reportedly discovered in her bathtub by someone who knew her. The person contacted paramedics, but she was declared dead at the scene. The tragic news was later confirmed on her official website.
Nakayama’s agency, BIG APPLE Inc., posted a statement in Japanese on her website. They confirmed her death and the location where her body was found. They expressed deep sadness and shock, saying, “It is truly painful to deliver such sudden news to the concerned parties and fans who have supported her for so long.”
The agency also mentioned that the cause of her death is still under investigation. Nakayama had been scheduled to perform at a Christmas concert at Billboard Live in Osaka, but the event was canceled due to an unspecified health issue.
Ticket holders for the concert were informed they would receive refunds. Nakayama’s last post on social media was shared the day before her death. On Instagram, she posted a picture of knitted art with the message, “I have been to hell and back. And let me tell you, it was wonderful.” In the caption, she explained her recent visit to an art exhibition and apologized for the poor quality of her photo. She described how moved she was during her visit and mentioned that the only person she could share her experience with was the friend who accompanied her.
Miho Nakayama became famous as a singer during the 1980s and 1990s, a time when J-pop was at its height. She is best known for her roles as Itsuki Fujii and Hiroko Watanabe in the 1995 film Love Letter. She also starred as Rieru Mashiro in the short-lived 2000 TV series Love 2000.
Nakayama is survived by her son, whom she shared with her ex-husband, musician Hitonari Tsuji. The boy is currently living with his father.
