Gary Sinise, the actor, is feeling very sad because his son, who was 33 years old, passed away unexpectedly.
|Gary Sinise, the actor from Forrest Gump, shared some very sad news on his charity’s website and his Instagram. He told everyone that his son, McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, who was 33, died because of cancer.
Mac got diagnosed with a rare cancer called Chordoma on August 8, 2018. This was just three months after his mom found out she had stage three breast cancer. While his mom got better with treatment, Mac got sicker. The cancer made him lose his ability to move.
Gary is deeply sad about losing his son, who he loved very much.
Gary Sinise wrote a heartfelt message about his family’s loss. He said they are very sad, like any family would be when they lose someone they love. It’s especially hard for parents to lose a child. He feels for anyone who has experienced similar pain.
Their battle with cancer lasted for 5 and a half years. As time went on, it got tougher. Even though they miss Mac a lot, they find comfort in knowing he’s not suffering anymore. Gary is amazed by how brave Mac was during his fight. Despite facing a cancer without a cure, Mac never gave up.
Many famous people showed their support for Gary and his family on Instagram. Angie Harmon wrote that they love Gary and his family very much and are praying for them. Alyssa Milano also sent prayers and love to Gary and his family, wishing them strength.
Mac lived a fulfilling life. He worked at his dad’s foundation and followed his passion for music until the end. He even played drums in a band with his dad.
Despite having five spine surgeries and being paralyzed from the waist down, Mac kept making music. He finished an album called Resurrection & Revival just before he died. He studied music at the University of Southern California and graduated from there.
Gary said they’re making sure Mac’s album gets released on vinyl.
Mac’s funeral was on January 5th.
