A child with cancer passed away while being held in Santa Claus’s arms.
|In a very sad situation, a 60-year-old man named Eric Schmitt-Matzen, who often dresses up as Santa Claus to visit hospitals, told a touching story. A nurse called him urgently to meet a 5-year-old boy who was very sick and really wanted to see Santa Claus.
Quickly, Eric went to the hospital. When he saw the child, he greeted him with a smile and asked, “Did I hear you won’t be here for Christmas?” The weak but happy boy called him his favorite elf. Eric gave him a PAW Patrol toy, and they hugged each other warmly.
The child asked about what happens after we die, and Eric comforted him, saying, “When you get there, you tell them you’re Santa’s number one elf.” Sadly, the child died in Eric’s arms, leaving his parents very sad.
The mom cried, and Eric carefully gave her son back to her. This really sad experience made him wonder if he could be Santa again. This heart-wrenching moment shows how even small acts of kindness can mean a lot to people going through tough times.
