After 14 Years on Air, MTV Officially Pulls the Plug on ‘Ridiculousness’ Fans Are in Shock
After more than a decade of nonstop laughter and viral moments, MTV has officially pulled the plug on “Ridiculousness”, marking the end of one of the network’s longest-running and most iconic shows.
According to inside sources, the decision was communicated to the cast and crew earlier this week, confirming that the current season will be the show’s last. The announcement reportedly came directly from MTV’s top executives, leaving fans and staff equally stunned.
The show originally went off the air in July 2024, with plans to return in January 2025. However, insiders have confirmed that while previously filmed episodes will continue airing through 2026, no new episodes will be produced.

Despite the cancellation, fans will still be able to relive their favorite moments — as previous seasons will remain available on MTV and selected episodes will continue streaming on Paramount+, ensuring plenty of laughs for years to come.
MTV executives have hinted that this move is part of a larger rebranding strategy, focusing on new creative directions, fresh formats, and innovative entertainment experiences as the network evolves for a new generation of viewers.

The cancellation follows the Paramount–Skydance merger, which brought significant restructuring and layoffs across the company.
For millions of fans, “Ridiculousness” wasn’t just another show — it was a cultural phenomenon. Hosted by Rob Dyrdek, alongside Steelo Brim and Lauren “Lolo” Wood, the viral clip series became a defining part of MTV’s identity since its 2011 premiere. Over the course of more than 30 seasons and 900+ episodes, the trio’s quick wit, celebrity guests, and internet-fail moments made it a go-to comfort show for fans around the world.
Longtime co-host Chanel West Coast, who joined the show from its very beginning, departed in March 2023 after 30 seasons, marking the end of an unforgettable era.
As “Ridiculousness” fades to black, one thing is certain — its legacy of laughter, chaos, and viral energy will live on forever.
