Anderson Cooper Injured on Live TV While Reporting on Hurricane Milton
Online commenters are worried about CNN’s Anderson Cooper after he was hit in the face by debris while reporting live on Hurricane Milton.
Milton, the second hurricane to hit Florida in weeks, made landfall on October 9 as a category three storm. The storm was expected to be very destructive, bringing tornadoes and nearly 30-foot waves.
Despite warnings, some people chose to stay in the storm’s path instead of evacuating.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper was reporting live from Siesta Key, Florida, facing winds of 120 mph during his broadcast.
Soon after the broadcast aired, videos spread on social media showing Cooper battling the strong winds and rain. At one point, the 57-year-old was hit by a piece of debris.
Reacting to the incident, Cooper said: “Woah! That wasn’t good. We’ll probably go inside shortly.”
Many people took to social media to express their thoughts. Most believed Cooper should not have been reporting in such dangerous conditions and would have been safer inside, a view we agree with.
“What’s the point of putting Anderson Cooper on a pier in the middle of the ocean during the height of a hurricane with 120 mph winds? Get my sweet porcelain glass anchor inside,” one user on X wrote.
“Someone rescue Anderson Cooper from CNN. #HurricaneMilton,” said another.
A third person posted, “The moment Anderson Cooper gets hit by flying debris in Bradenton, FL. WTF.”
Another added, “Why is Anderson Cooper out in Milton trying to be Jim Cantore, and why did he get smacked in the face by debris?”

Hurricane Milton has now weakened to a category one, but there are still warnings about the damage it could cause as it continues its path.
“You have to shelter in place and hunker down,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis urged.
“This storm is here.”
