Demi Moore Breaks Down in Tears After Winning Her First Golden Globe Award!
|Actress Demi Moore made history at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards by winning her first major acting award.
The event, hosted by Nikki Glaser, celebrated the best movies and TV shows of 2024. It brought together many of Hollywood’s biggest stars to honor the year’s best work.
Some of the famous presenters at the event included Andrew Garfield, Anthony Mackie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Awkwafina, Catherine O’Hara, Colin Farrell, Colman Domingo, Sarah Paulson, Seth Rogen, and Zoë Kravitz.
However, it was Demi Moore who stole the show. Not only did she present an award, but she also took one home, making her emotional.
Demi won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
In her speech, Demi said, “I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m just in shock right now! I’ve been doing this for over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. I’m so humbled and grateful.”
She shared that, 30 years ago, a producer called her a “popcorn actress,” which made her believe she couldn’t succeed in the industry, reports the Mirror US.
Demi added, “At that time, I thought I wasn’t allowed to have success or make movies that were big hits. That belief held me back for a while.”
She then spoke about a turning point in her life when she felt like she had achieved everything she was “supposed to do.” But a “courageous” script for The Substance brought new energy and purpose during a “low point.”
She said: “The universe told me you’re not done yet… I had a woman tell me, ‘You will never be enough, but you can know your worth if you stop comparing yourself.'”
In her emotional speech, Demi encouraged women who have ever felt they weren’t “smart enough, pretty enough,” or just “not enough” to keep going. She urged them to carry on with the wisdom she had learned.
