Donald Trump Attending Super Bowl 2025 – Will He Steal the Show?

Aside from reports confirming President Donald Trump’s attendance at this year’s Super Bowl, officials have assured that there are no credible threats expected following the recent terror attack in New Orleans.

President Donald Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl this Sunday in New Orleans, making history as the first sitting U.S. president to appear at the event. The game will see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The U.S. Secret Service has been preparing for Trump’s visit with extra security measures to keep everyone safe, including attendees, players, and staff. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated that special precautions are in place because of the historic nature of this visit.

“Extensive planning and coordination have been in place to ensure the safety of all attendees, players, and staff,” Guglielmi said.

In addition to attending the game, Trump will also be interviewed by Fox News’ Bret Baier as part of the network’s pre-game coverage.

The interview will be recorded in Florida before the game, following the tradition of presidents speaking with the network broadcasting the Super Bowl. However, both Trump and his predecessor, Joe Biden, have not always followed this tradition.

Although Trump has not officially chosen a team to support, he hinted at favoring a particular player. “I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” he said when asked for a game prediction, seemingly referring to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship, Trump congratulated them on social media. “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” he wrote.

He added, “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!”

Super Bowl attendees can expect more security updates in the coming days as preparations continue for this historic event.

As New Orleans gets ready to host Super Bowl 59, officials have reassured the public that there are no specific threats to the game or surrounding events. This announcement comes nearly a month after a terrorist attack on Bourbon Street killed 14 people on January 1, 2025.

During a press briefing, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem spoke about the extensive security measures in place.

“Right now, we have no specific credible threats to this event … which I think should give us all a sense of security,” Noem said. She explained that deploying resources early and working with different agencies is key to ensuring safety.

NFL Chief of Security Cathy Lanier shared that the league has strengthened its security plans following the attack. “We have reassessed and stress-tested our timing, our communication protocols, our contingency measures, and our emergency response plans multiple times over the past several weeks,” she said.

More than 2,700 law enforcement officers from different agencies will be on duty to secure the event. The stadium has also been designated a “no-drone zone” to prevent any unauthorized aerial activity.

“The Secret Service has been working closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, as well as the NFL, to create a strong security plan,” Guglielmi stated.

Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Eric DeLaune, who is from Louisiana, is leading the federal security coordination for the event, which has been classified as a SEAR 1 security event—the highest level of security classification.

“I have worked to coordinate the security of the land, air, and local waterways, with the vital support of our partners, leveraging a united front of all law enforcement agencies,” DeLaune said.

The site of the Bourbon Street attack has also received security upgrades, including fixing protective barriers that were under repair when the attack happened.

Noem visited the site and emphasized the importance of learning from past events. “We have an opportunity to learn from what happened. The Super Bowl is the biggest Homeland Security event we handle every year,” she said.

With a strong law enforcement presence and extra security measures, officials are confident they can provide a safe environment for the championship game, which will take place on February 9 at Caesars Superdome, located at 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive.

Super Bowl week will feature exciting events like Opening Night and the Super Bowl Experience, an interactive attraction for all ages.

Music fans also have something to look forward to, as rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Apple Music halftime show.

Lamar, who is headlining the Super Bowl for the first time, confirmed the news in a social media post. In a statement, he said, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

NFL Head of Music Seth Dudowsky spoke about Lamar’s selection. “Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop.”

Dudowsky added, “We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.” On June 24, 2025, SZA announced in a short video with Lamar that she will join him on stage during the performance.

For fans watching from home, there are many ways to catch the game. It will be broadcast live on FOX, with national coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET. Those with smart TVs can also stream the game via the NFL and Tubi channels.

For viewers with only a tablet or phone, the event can be streamed live through the NFL app. Fans who prefer audio coverage can listen via NFL+, SiriusXM, and Westwood ONE. The NFL Network will also provide over 70 hours of live coverage throughout Super Bowl week.

The NFL also released a detailed diagram of the 2024-2025 playoffs, showing all the teams that the Chiefs and Eagles defeated on their way to Super Bowl LIX.
