Elton John’s Sons Zachary and Elijah Make Rare Public Appearance at New Year’s Eve Party

Elton John welcomed the new year surrounded by family and close friends, making a rare public appearance alongside his two sons during an elegant New Year’s Eve celebration.

The legendary musician, 78, attended a private New Year’s Eve party hosted by fashion icon Donatella Versace, accompanied by his husband, David Furnish, and their sons, Zachary, 15, and Elijah, who recently turned 13.

A Stylish Night to Welcome 2026

Photos shared on Instagram captured the family posing together in coordinated formalwear. John looked refined in a black blazer featuring an intricately embroidered collar, paired with a polka-dot button-up shirt, tailored black trousers, and his signature thick black glasses.

Furnish complemented the look in an off-white shawl-collar blazer layered over a crisp white shirt and black slacks. Zachary and Elijah appeared noticeably grown up, both wearing classic black suits with white dress shirts as they posed beside their parents and Versace.

Also present at the celebration was Edward Enninful, with whom the family smiled for photos.

“Thank you @donatella_versace and @edward_enninful for hosting us for a fabulous New Year’s Eve party,” John wrote in his caption. “A perfect way to see in 2026.”

A Rare Public Moment for the Family

Public appearances featuring John and Furnish with their sons have become increasingly rare in recent years. The couple has long prioritized keeping Zachary and Elijah out of the spotlight, making their New Year’s Eve appearance especially notable.

In 2025, the family was seen together publicly on only a handful of occasions. In March, they attended John’s annual Oscars viewing party, and in September, John shared a photo from a football match featuring himself and his sons supporting Watford FC, the team he has owned since 1976.

A Family Built Over Time

John and Furnish welcomed their eldest son, Zachary, in 2010 via surrogate, followed by Elijah in 2013 through the same surrogate. Over the years, the couple has spoken openly about the joy of parenthood and the importance of maintaining a grounded, private upbringing for their children.

Just weeks before the New Year’s Eve celebration, the couple marked a major personal milestone — their 20th anniversary as partners.

Celebrating 20 Years Together

In December, John shared a heartfelt tribute to Furnish on Instagram.

“Happy anniversary to my incredible husband,” he wrote. “Today we celebrate 20 years since our civil partnership, 11 years of marriage, and many more years of happiness to come.”

Furnish echoed the sentiment in his own post, expressing gratitude for the life they have built together and calling John his “magnificent husband.”

As the new year begins, the rare family appearance offered fans a glimpse into the private world of one of music’s most enduring icons — a moment defined not by fame, but by family.
