Another picture showed him sitting on a couch next to someone with a small dog asleep on their lap. The background featured large windows, a sculpture of a rider on a horse, and a painting of a tree.
Payne also shared pictures of the food they enjoyed during their trip to Argentina. He seemed to be relaxing on vacation, mentioning that he didn’t have to wake up early every day.
The desserts he posted included a layered chocolate pastry with whipped cream, a slice of pie with toasted meringue, and a small cake topped with strawberries.
Though these posts appeared recently, one fan noted that they seemed to be from a few days earlier because his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, had flown back to the U.S. two days before his reported death.
Cassidy later shared a TikTok video about her return to Florida, explaining that she had been eager to leave Argentina. She mentioned that their stay, initially planned for five days, stretched to two weeks, and she felt ready to go home.
In the video, Cassidy showed herself on the plane and described what she ate while waiting for the flight. She also mentioned buying a neck pillow, saying she usually travels with a Squishmallow but had left it with Payne before leaving.
Cassidy landed in Florida early in the morning and expressed happiness about being back. She captioned her post, “soooo happpiii to b back in sunshine state [sic].”
Fans were heartbroken to hear about Payne’s passing, especially since Cassidy wasn’t by his side. One fan commented, “It’s so awful 😢 seeing his snap stories and then this.”
Many fans expressed concern for Payne’s son, Bear, now growing up without his father. “So sad and heartbreaking and his poor son. Gone too soon,” one person wrote. Another added, “His poor son 😢😢😢.”
