Daniel Stern, Known for Home Alone, Questioned by Police in California Investigation

Daniel Stern, best known for playing Marv — one half of the infamous “Sticky Bandits” — in the classic holiday film Home Alone, has been cited by police in California in connection with an alleged solicitation incident, according to law enforcement sources.

The 68-year-old actor was issued a citation on December 10 in Camarillo, California, a source from Ventura County told TMZ. Importantly, Stern was not arrested during the incident.

What Authorities Have Confirmed

According to the report, Stern was cited for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, which is classified as a misdemeanor under California law. Individuals convicted of the offense can face penalties of up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both.

At this time, no arrest was made, and there has been no public indication of court proceedings beyond the citation itself.

Neither Stern nor his representatives have issued a public statement regarding the matter.

A Life Largely Away From Hollywood

In recent years, Stern has largely stepped away from the entertainment industry. Married to his wife Laure Mattos since 1980, the father of three now lives on a ranch in Ventura County, where he focuses on sculpture and cattle ranching.

During a recent interview with People, Stern spoke about returning to his artistic roots and revealed that he was recently approached by the current owners of the famous Home Alone house.

“They asked if I would create a sculpture for the house,” Stern said, explaining that he is working on a piece inspired by one of his most recognizable scenes from the film — featuring his character and the infamous spider.

Recent Health Update

In October, Stern was briefly hospitalized following an undisclosed medical emergency, according to TMZ. He was released shortly afterward and was reported to be “doing well.”

No Further Details Released

As of now, authorities have not released additional information, and the case remains limited to the citation that was issued. Stern has not been charged beyond the alleged misdemeanor, and there is no indication of an arrest or detention.

The situation continues to draw attention due to Stern’s long-standing association with one of the most beloved holiday films of all time, though officials have emphasized that the actor was not taken into custody during the incident.
