‘It’s Over!’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘Have Secretly Admitted’ Barmy Plan of Chasing Separate Careers ‘Just Isn’t Working’

Prince Harry has reportedly confided in friends back in England, calling 2025 a “make or break” year for his marriage to Meghan Markle, as the couple continues to pursue increasingly divergent career paths—raising questions about their future together.

With Meghan’s new Netflix series set to debut this month and her wellness brand, American Riviera Orchard, gaining traction, Harry’s inner circle is left wondering how the couple will navigate these challenges by year’s end, RadarOnline.com has learned.

A close friend in the UK shared, “This year is pivotal for Harry and Meghan as they figure out how to prioritize their relationship. Right now, it feels like they’re living completely separate lives. Harry has admitted that their decision to pursue independent careers has been a mistake—it’s just not working for them.”

Friends have expressed concerns that if tensions between the two escalate further, they may start questioning whether staying together is worth the strain, especially if Harry continues to feel unhappy.

“Harry doesn’t want his marriage to fall apart,” the friend added. “He loves Meghan and their children deeply. But he’s also been honest about the toll the past year has taken on him emotionally. He craves peace with his family but worries that Meghan’s ambitions might not align with that. He fears he could end up permanently estranged from his royal relatives.”

The couple seemed to embody pure happiness when they shared their first kiss on the steps of St. George’s Chapel after their wedding in 2018.

More recently, they tried to recapture that joy by sharing festive holiday photos with their children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, showcasing a united family front.

However, behind the smiles, much has shifted for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the years since their fairy-tale wedding.

Although Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, embarked on two high-profile “faux-royal” tours last year—one to Nigeria in May and another to Colombia in August—they spent much of 2024 pursuing separate projects.

Harry focused on solo commitments, including engagements in Canada, where the Invictus Games are set to take place next month, and a two-week trip visiting New York, London, South Africa, and Lesotho.

Meanwhile, Meghan stayed in California, making surprise appearances on the red carpet in Beverly Hills. She attended The Paley Honors gala, where she reunited with her friend and film producer Tyler Perry.

At the start of the year, Markle launched new ventures, debuting her Instagram account, @Meghan, with a video of herself on the beach, and releasing a trailer for her upcoming Netflix lifestyle show.

While Meghan appears to be fully committed to her career pursuits, it seems this arrangement is no longer working for Harry. Sources indicate that he is struggling with their current way of life.

Unlike Meghan, who seems content with her estrangement from her father, Thomas, since 2018, Harry is determined to use 2025 to repair his relationship with his own family.

“Harry has acknowledged that things just aren’t working for him. A major issue is the ongoing conflict with his family, which he’s taking responsibility for, while Meghan continues to blame the Palace,” a source revealed.

The couple’s rift with the royal family dates back to their decision to step down as senior royals in 2020. The tension deepened after their explosive 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they accused the royal family of questioning the color of Archie’s skin before his birth and dismissing Meghan’s mental health struggles.

Relations between Harry and his brother, Prince William, hit an all-time low in 2023 after Harry’s memoir, Spare, revealed heated arguments between the couples—Harry and Meghan versus William and Kate.

Although Meghan supports Harry’s efforts to mend ties with his family, insiders say she remains firm in her refusal to return to the UK.
