Jelly Roll Praises Joshua Ray Walker After 200-Pound Weight Loss Transformation

Jelly Roll has never shied away from sharing the reality of his health transformation — and now, the chart-topping artist is using his experience to encourage others facing similar challenges.

After losing an extraordinary 275 pounds since beginning his health and fitness journey in 2022, Jelly Roll is offering public support to fellow country singer Joshua Ray Walker, who has announced his goal to lose more than 200 pounds.

Jelly Roll’s Transformation Reaches a Major Milestone

Jelly Roll’s journey reached a defining moment on January 2, when he revealed he had landed on the cover of Men’s Health — a goal he had spoken openly about months earlier.

Back in December 2024, the “Save Me” singer shared his ambition during an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast, hosted by his wife Bunnie Xo. At the time, Jelly Roll explained that the magazine cover symbolized more than weight loss — it represented reclaiming his health and future.

Since then, he has remained remarkably transparent, documenting both the physical progress and emotional challenges that come with dramatic lifestyle change.

Praise From His Health Coach

Among those celebrating Jelly Roll’s achievement is his health coach, Ian Larios, who shared a heartfelt message reflecting on the significance of the transformation.

“I’ve had many moments in my career that I’m proud of,” Larios wrote on social media. “But this one hits differently.”

Calling the Men’s Health cover “legendary,” he praised Jelly Roll’s discipline and commitment, noting that the moment was earned through sustained effort rather than sudden change.

“You spoke this moment into existence. You worked for it, and no one can ever take that away from you,” he added.

Encouraging Joshua Ray Walker’s Journey

Now, Jelly Roll is turning that encouragement outward.

Joshua Ray Walker recently revealed that he is beginning his own weight loss journey, setting a personal goal to reach 400 pounds within 400 days. Walker’s announcement follows a deeply challenging period in his life.

In 2023, the “Dumpster Diving” singer shared that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer and underwent months of chemotherapy. At one point, doctors believed the cancer had progressed to Stage 4 after it was thought to have spread to his lungs. A later biopsy, however, confirmed that the diagnosis was incorrect and that the cancer had not spread.

After the health scare, Walker said he felt motivated to reclaim control of his body and long-term well-being.

“If you want to watch an extremely fat man become a slightly less fat man, follow along,” he wrote candidly on social media.

Jelly Roll’s Message Resonates

Jelly Roll was quick to respond with words of encouragement that struck a chord with fans.

“You can do it, brother. I believe in you. Let’s go! Hit me if you need anything,” he commented.

The message quickly gained traction, receiving more than 10,000 likes and hundreds of supportive replies praising Jelly Roll for standing behind a fellow artist during a vulnerable moment.

A Community Built on Accountability and Support

For fans, the exchange highlighted something larger than weight loss numbers. It showcased how openness, accountability, and encouragement can create meaningful momentum — especially for those facing both physical and emotional recovery.

As Jelly Roll continues his own health journey, his willingness to publicly support others reinforces a message he’s repeated often: lasting change doesn’t happen alone.
