John Ramsey, the father of JonBenét Ramsey, has made a shocking statement about his daughter’s unsolved 1996 murder. In an exclusive interview with People, he suggested that a masked intruder could be responsible for both JonBenét’s death and an attack on a 12-year-old girl in Boulder just nine months later.
John said, “To me, it could easily have been the same person,” adding that authorities dismissed this theory. Despite this, he remains hopeful that modern forensic techniques, like DNA analysis, could finally identify the killer.
The investigation into JonBenét’s death initially focused on her family, partly because of a ransom note found in their home. JonBenét had been strangled, beaten, and sexually assaulted. Her parents, John and Patsy, always maintained their innocence, but they faced intense media scrutiny. Patsy died in 2006, and no charges were ever filed against John or their son, Burke.
John pointed out the striking similarities between the two cases. Both victims lived near each other, attended the same dance studio, and had intruders in their homes.
