Mickey Rourke Appears Unrecognizable in Rare Public Sighting Amid Possible Eviction

Mickey Rourke was photographed during a rare public outing on New Year’s Day, sparking renewed attention as reports indicate the actor may be facing eviction from his Los Angeles home.

The 73-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, best known for his role in The Wrestler, was seen briefly stepping outside his residence to collect food deliveries. The appearance came just days after court documents surfaced alleging that Rourke has accumulated tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid rent.

Rare Appearance Outside Los Angeles Home

In photos taken on January 1, Rourke appeared markedly different from his familiar on-screen image. The former boxer was seen with a shaved head, wearing a multi-colored striped sweater, purple workout pants, and white socks. He also wore a beaded necklace with a cross and a polka-dot scarf around his neck.

During the short outing, Rourke retrieved multiple deliveries, including a bag from Taco Bell and two paper grocery bags from Pavilions, before returning inside his home. The actor was not seen interacting with anyone else and appeared focused solely on collecting the items.

Eviction Notice and Unpaid Rent Claims

Earlier this week, reports revealed that Rourke is allegedly facing eviction after falling behind on rent payments for his Los Angeles property. According to court filings, he was served with a three-day notice to either pay the outstanding balance or vacate the residence by December 18.

The documents claim Rourke’s monthly rent had risen to approximately $7,000 and that he owed a total of $59,100 at the time the notice was issued. The eviction notice was reportedly posted on the property and mailed after no individual of “suitable age or discretion” was found at the home.

The residence is described in real estate listings as a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath Spanish-style bungalow, originally built in 1926 and later renovated.

A Career of Highs, Lows, and Comebacks

Rourke rose to prominence in the 1980s with roles in films such as Body Heat, Diner, and 9½ Weeks, earning a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most intense and unconventional leading men.

At the height of his career, he stepped away from acting in the early 1990s to pursue professional boxing, a decision that dramatically altered his trajectory in the entertainment industry.

His career resurgence came in 2008 with The Wrestler, a performance that earned him a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination, reestablishing him as a serious dramatic actor.

Recent Controversy and Public Scrutiny

In April, Rourke appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK but was removed from the program following reports of threatening and aggressive behavior. He later issued an apology regarding the incident.

Since then, the actor has largely remained out of the public eye, making his New Year’s Day appearance notable amid ongoing personal and legal challenges.

As of now, Rourke has not publicly commented on the eviction claims. Court records indicate the matter remains unresolved.
