On the day Toby Keith died, he posted a sad message.

A special person and a patriot, Toby Keith, has passed away.

Toby Keith, a country singer, died on Monday at 62 years old after fighting stomach cancer for a long time.

Just before he died, Toby talked about a song in a video. It’s hard to watch now, knowing he’s gone.

The hard times of treatments are over now.

Toby Keith, known as ‘Big Dog Daddy,’ was from Oklahoma and became famous in Nashville with his great songs.

He was a big name on country radio in the 1990s, and his first song ‘Should’ve Been A Cowboy’ will always be remembered. Toby Keith is one of the best country singers ever. He sold over 40 million albums and his music has been listened to billions of times.

He was a tough guy who never stopped for anyone. But when he got sick with stomach cancer in 2021, he started to look different and thinner.

Many of us felt for Toby as he fought cancer.

He had surgeries, chemo, and radiation, but they didn’t help.

Toby always kept his fans updated about how he was doing. Last month, he talked about his health in an interview.

He said, “Dealing with cancer is tough. Some days are good, some are bad. It’s like waiting for a roller coaster to end. Even if it gets better, you still worry.”

Toby was a Christian and found strength in his faith. He said he relied on it when things got tough.

Just before he died, Toby looked back on one of his first songs. It’s touching to see him talk about how he started his career, especially knowing what he was going through. In a video, he talked about writing a song about heartbreak when he was only 14 years old.

“When I was 14 or 15, I wrote my first song called ‘If You Had an Out of Heartache,'” he said.

“It wasn’t great, but people liked it when I played it. That was just one song out of many,” he added.

Toby’s last Instagram post, shared a day before he died, showed one of his last performances in Las Vegas from the previous year. The fans didn’t know it then, but it turned out to be his final concert.

He captioned the post with, “And that’s a wrap on the weekend, y’all. Back to it.”

We didn’t know then that Toby had passed away. But when people found out the next day, they went to the comments to say their last goodbyes to the country singer.

“It’s sad that this was his last show and nobody knew,” one person wrote. Another said, “The people watching didn’t realize how lucky they were to see him.” And someone else wrote, “Rest in peace, Toby. You gave your all until the end.”

Another comment said, “Imagine being in that crowd and realizing you saw him for the last time… devastating.”

Toby’s wife Tricia Lucus and their children, Shelley, Krystal, and Stelen, survive him. They were married in 1984.

First we lost Jimmy Buffett and now Toby. Two of my favorite people. Now they will playing guitars and hanging out together once again!

RIP Toby. Heaven has gained another angel!
