Russell Crowe, 61, Shocks Fans With 57-Pound Weight Loss ‘I Finally Feel Like Myself Again’
Russell Crowe is opening up about his powerful 57-pound weight loss transformation — and this time, the Gladiator star says it’s not about vanity… it’s about health, clarity, and learning when to slow down.
During a candid conversation on “The Joe Rogan Experience” this week, the 61-year-old Oscar winner shared how science, discipline, and a few key lifestyle changes helped him feel stronger and more focused than he has in years.
Cutting Back on Alcohol: “I Had to Be Honest With Myself”

Crowe revealed that one of the biggest turning points came when he decided to cut down on alcohol — a habit he admitted had become too normalized in his life.
“We normalize both drinking and wagering,” he said. “But we never really look at the damage they cause.”
Crowe explained that while he still enjoys an occasional drink, it’s no longer a casual part of his daily routine.
“If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it’s going to be a really nice wine,” he told Rogan. “I try not to have casual drinks now. Having a drink just for the sake of it — that’s gone.”
He added that as he’s grown older, he’s learned to respect his limits and listen to what his body needs, rather than what habit dictates.

How Science Helped: The Ways2Well Program
Another major influence in Crowe’s transformation is Ways2Well, a health services platform focused on preventive care and personalized wellness.
The company helps clients “take control of their health by going beyond traditional healthcare models” — something Crowe says was exactly what he needed.
Introduced to the program by Joe Rogan, Crowe began receiving targeted wellness injections and IV treatments designed to reduce inflammation and support recovery.
“It’s calmed down a bunch of stuff,” he explained. “It’s taken away a lot of pain so I can work out without suffering for two or three hours afterward. It’s really reduced my body’s inflammation.”
The star said he’s connected with the Ways2Well team several times since starting and credits their science-based approach for helping him rebuild both energy and focus.

Jelly Roll Shares Similar Success
Interestingly, country music star Jelly Roll has also credited Ways2Well as part of his own wellness journey.
“Everyone has been praising me for my weight loss,” Jelly said in a video for the company. “But it’s taken a couple of years. Patience, baby.”
Both Crowe and Jelly Roll highlight a common truth — sustainable transformation isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about patience, awareness, and small daily choices that add up over time.
A Healthier, Stronger Russell Crowe

For Crowe, the change goes far beyond numbers on a scale. It’s about getting back to balance, rediscovering physical confidence, and learning that taking care of yourself doesn’t mean losing who you are.
At 61, the man once known as The Gladiator is proving something far greater — that even heroes evolve.
