Sad news: They found the body of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham in a river.

Sad news from Texas: They found the body of Audrii Cunningham, an 11-year-old girl who went missing.

She was found in the Trinity River in Livingston, Pole County, after she didn’t go to school on February 15.

The sheriff confirmed this in a press conference, and they’re still investigating. Earlier, they found a backpack near Lake Livingston Dam.

Audrii’s mom said it feels like something from TV, and she’s heartbroken. Audrii should have gone to school on February 15 but never did.

A lot of police groups, like the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Ranger Division, worked together to find Audrii’s body.

They found her yesterday. The district attorney said they’re getting ready to arrest a man named Don Steven McDougal. He’s 42 years old and lives near Audrii’s family.

McDougal was arrested earlier for something else, and the police asked him questions about Audrii, but he didn’t help much. The police think he might have been the last person to see Audrii.

He lives in a camper near Audrii’s house. The district attorney said they might charge whoever is responsible for Audrii’s disappearance with a serious crime.

We’re so sorry for Audrii’s family.
