|Steve Harvey and his wife, Marjorie Harvey, just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary. The couple, who have raised seven children together, shared a video on Instagram to mark their special day. They looked fantastic in white outfits. They also mentioned that at one point in their relationship, Steve almost lost Marjorie, but his bodyguard played a crucial role in saving their relationship.
Steve Harvey, the American actor, producer, comedian, and TV host, recently celebrated 16 years of marriage with his wife, Marjorie Harvey. They’ve raised seven kids together: Brandi, Karli, Broderick, Wynton, Morgan, Jason, and Lori. To mark this special occasion, they shared behind-the-scenes footage of their anniversary photoshoot on Instagram.
The couple chose Lake Como in Italy for their celebration. In the video, you can see them wearing stylish outfits by Elly Karamoh in different parts of the luxurious home where the photoshoot happened.
Marjorie looked stunning in a chic white silk YSL dress paired with a beautiful feathered gown with a train. Steve, her handsome husband, wore white flowy pants, a white dress shirt, and a dazzling gold-like Dolce & Gabbana blazer. The video captures them posing, lovingly looking at each other, and sharing sweet kisses as they walked downstairs.
Coco Jones’ “ICU” played in the background of the video which fans and celebrity friends alike were gushing over. They showered the couple with lovely compliments. Marjorie’s simple yet love-filled caption read:
“Anniversary time with the Love of My Life.”
In a separate post, Steve also shared the special clip to his Instagram feed and continued to celebrate his beloved wife on his Instagram Story too. The “Family Feud” host’s post was captioned:
“Still going strong @marjorie_harvey.”
In 1987, Steve Harvey, the comedian, was doing a stand-up comedy show in Memphis. That’s when he first saw Marjorie, who walked into the show late and took a seat in the front. During his performance, Steve spoke directly to her, saying, “I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day.”
Even though they lost touch for a while after that, fate and mutual friends brought Marjorie and Steve back together in 2005. Since then, they have been inseparable. After a year of dating, Steve asked Marjorie to marry him, and on June 25, 2007, they got married. That’s how their love story began.
Steve is a really sweet and caring husband, and he always makes sure to treat Marjorie like she’s a queen. Just before celebrating their 16th year of marriage, they marked their 15th year in a special way. Steve decided to write a love letter to his wife, talking about their time together as a married couple.
In the letter, Steve looked back at how much they’ve grown since they first met many years ago. He shared about the good and tough times they’ve faced, especially when he was going through a tough period financially. Marjorie stood by him, supporting him and their family.
The Harveys are still happily in love, feeling blessed with the wonderful life they’ve built together.
According to Steve, Marjorie was the first person to bring him a sense of peace in the midst of his busy and crazy life. As he talked about their long relationship, Steve feels incredibly blessed and thankful for Marjorie. He said, “I owe you a debt of gratitude because you simply changed my life. You are the single biggest reason, outside of God’s grace, that I am where I am today. If I lost everything, I feel like you’d stay with me, and we’d build it up again.”
Before Steve met Marjorie, he was married twice. After ending his first marriage to Marcia Harvey to pursue his dream of being a comedian, Steve became homeless for three years. It was a tough time for him, working his way up in Hollywood with no support.
In 1993, Steve got a big break performing at the Apollo Theatre on Showtime. However, his personal life was still troubled after his second marriage to Mary Shackelford, and he realized it was a mistake. Instead of blaming his ex-wife, Steve admitted he got married again for the wrong reasons, not wanting to be alone. After his second divorce, Steve met Marjorie, and his bodyguard played a key role in bringing them back together.
The bodyguard told Steve, “The only time I’ve ever seen you happy was when you were with that woman Marjorie. Before you do something stupid and marry another woman, I’m calling her.” Steve wanted to give Marjorie the world and waited to reconnect with her. Marjorie wished she had known this reason earlier, as she would have invited him to move in. Despite that, they were both happy to be reunited, and Steve sees it as a second chance. He said, “It was like being reborn. I messed up so many times in my life, and she made all the difference. When you’re happy at home, you can make a lot of things happen.”
The Harveys remain happily in love and blessed with the beautiful life they have been gifted. Steve and Marjorie are forever grateful for having decided to give their relationship another chance after losing contact when they met initially, resulting in a nearly two-decade-long marriage.
