Steve Martin Shocks Fans with Retirement Announcement After Decades of Fame!

Steve Martin has been a familiar face on television and in movies for many years, but now he says it’s time to retire. Fans around the world will miss seeing him on screen!

Steve Martin first became famous when he joined “Saturday Night Live.” He quickly became a popular actor and starred in big movies like “Pink Panther,” “Cheaper by the Dozen,” “Father of the Bride,” and many others.

Even as he got older, Martin’s popularity didn’t fade. While many people retire in their 60s, Steve Martin not only saw a rise in his career but also became a father for the first time. He married Anne Stringfield in 2007, and they had a daughter in 2012.

But now, Martin says he’s ready to retire. In an interview, he explained, “There’s a time in your career when people are dying to see you… Now is the time in my career when I’m the one who’s got to show up.”

Martin is currently starring in the Hulu show “Only Murders in the Building,” alongside his long-time friend and collaborator Martin Short and actress Selena Gomez.

He says the characters in the show came together naturally. “I’m very happy with my character not growing. They always say, ‘What’s the arc of the character? What does he learn?’ Once you get to 75, there’s not a lot left to learn, there’s only more mistakes. So I don’t worry about those things,” he shared. “It’s about being true to the character. If Marty Short is true to Oliver, and I’m true to Charles, then we can’t go wrong. They’re real people.”

Martin also revealed, “When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. I’m not going to seek other movies. I don’t want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it.”

Steve Martin is well-known for his many cameos on the show that helped start his career. He has appeared as a special guest on “SNL” 19 times and has hosted the show 15 times.

It seems Martin is retiring on a high note, as he has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for his role as Charles Haden-Savage in “Only Murders in the Building.”

Not many actors have had such a successful career as Steve Martin, and it’s clear he wants to retire on top. He has truly done it all!

We wish Steve Martin the best as he enjoys his retirement. He will certainly be missed!
