TikTok star Bailey Hutchins dies from cancer after brave battle at 26

Just days before losing her battle with colon cancer, 26-year-old Bailey Hutchins shared her final TikTok video from her hospital bed, staying positive until the very end.

For two years, the social media influencer touched millions with her story, and when she passed away on February 7, people around the world mourned her, “crying for a stranger” they had never met.

On January 31, 2023, Caden Hutchins shared heartbreaking news on Instagram about his girlfriend, Bailey, who was 24 at the time.

“The past week has been a rollercoaster. Bailey’s health declined so much that we had no choice but to take her to the ER,” he wrote. After emergency surgery, doctors removed part of Bailey’s colon and confirmed that it was cancerous.

“Bailey has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. Our next step is fighting this disease. I know with her strength, positivity, and determination, she will get through this. She’s young, strong, and ready to take this head-on.”

Bailey, a nurse and beloved TikTok creator, spent the next two years using her experience to spread awareness and hope.

Instead of hiding in fear, she used social media to talk about the importance of early cancer screenings, share updates on her treatment, and remind people to live with strength and gratitude.

Through her heartfelt videos, she educated her followers on the symptoms of colon cancer, the importance of early diagnosis, and the realities of treatment. Despite the challenges, she always found a reason to smile, dance, and be thankful.

‘I’m Alive’
Bailey’s cancer progressed from Stage 3 to Stage 4, spreading to her abdominal lining. Even as her health worsened, she continued to fight, refusing to let the disease define her.

In early 2025, her condition declined, but she kept updating her followers. Her final TikTok post came on January 19, where she appeared in her hospital bed.

“Don’t mind my hair, I look crazy right now,” she joked. “I’m not going to share any updates on what’s happening, I just can’t. But I’m here. And I’m alive.”

As her health worsened, Caden—who married Bailey in November 2023—took over her account. On January 26, he told followers they were taking things “day by day” and thanked everyone for their support.

‘Her Story Will Live On’
On February 8, Caden announced that Bailey had passed away the night before at 26 years old.

“Last night, our Bailey B went to Heaven. We wanted her here forever, but we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain. Bailey fought so hard these past two years,” he wrote.

The post, which has been viewed 10 million times, was set to Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again and featured touching clips from their wedding day.

“Bailey’s spirit shines as bright as the sun. She was such a light in this world, and we will continue to let her light shine. Her story will never be forgotten,” he continued.

‘A Beautiful Soul’
Since her passing, social media has been filled with tributes to Bailey and the impact she made in such a short time.

“I don’t have words to say how sorry I am. Bailey’s light shined in every video. I didn’t know her, but I feel this loss deeply,” one fan wrote.

Another commented, “My heart just sank. I’m just a stranger on the internet, but I was drawn to her beautiful spirit. Sending you love.”

“I prayed for a miracle more than ever for Bailey. I’m so sorry for your loss,” shared another, while someone else simply wrote, “Crying for a stranger I just met.”

‘An Angel on Earth’
Many followers also shared how Bailey had inspired them in their own lives.

“I’ve struggled with mental health and spent the past year in bed watching life pass me by. Bailey, I promise not to take life for granted anymore. Thank you for sharing your story,” one TikToker wrote.

Another shared, “Bailey gave me hope while I cared for my husband during his colon cancer battle. We won’t give up.”

“I’m a 47-year-old colon cancer survivor. I started following Bailey a year ago. She helped more people than she ever knew. She was an angel on Earth,” one follower commented.

A Love That Lives On
On Valentine’s Day 2025, Caden honored Bailey with a touching Instagram post. He shared photos of them through the years, with captions reading, “I loved you in 2013” to “I loved you in 2025.”

Bailey Hutchins was more than a TikTok influencer—she was a symbol of hope, strength, and love. Even in the darkest moments, she chose to live with purpose.

Rest in peace, Bailey. Your light will never fade.
