Tragic Details Emerge: Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers Found Dead in Bathroom 911 Call Revealed
The rock world is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking death of Sam Rivers, the longtime bassist for Limp Bizkit, who was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his Florida home. He was just 48 years old.

According to an incident report obtained by TMZ, a woman identified as Keely discovered Rivers lying face down in the bathroom and immediately called 911 for help. During the emotional call, she told dispatchers that she found Sam in a pool of blood and began performing CPR while awaiting emergency responders.
When officers from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department arrived, they continued life-saving efforts until Fire Rescue teams arrived — but sadly, Rivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities noted a cut above his eye, suggesting he may have fallen from the toilet before losing consciousness. The report described his face and neck as dark blue, while the rest of his body appeared flushed — a condition often associated with a pulmonary embolism. A small amount of coagulated blood was also found in the bathroom.

Keely reportedly told deputies that Sam had undergone a liver transplant in 2018 and was taking multiple medications for ongoing liver and health-related issues. She also mentioned that he occasionally drank alcohol and smoked marijuana, though there was no immediate indication of foul play.
The official cause of death has not yet been determined.
Sam Rivers was a founding member of Limp Bizkit, helping shape the band’s iconic nu-metal sound alongside Fred Durst, Wes Borland, and John Otto. He briefly left the band in 2015 due to health complications stemming from liver disease caused by excessive drinking, but later reconnected with fans through various musical projects and public appearances.
Rivers’ influence on the rock and metal scene remains undeniable. Known for his deep bass grooves and stage energy, he was an integral part of Limp Bizkit’s rise to fame with chart-topping albums like “Significant Other” and “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.”

Fans across the globe are expressing grief and sharing memories online, honoring the musician’s lasting impact on music and culture.
Rest in peace, Sam Rivers (1976–2024) — your rhythm lives on forever. 🎸🕊️
