Willie Nelson Cancels Outlaw Music Festival Show in Oklahoma Due to Unforeseen Circumstances

Country music legend Willie Nelson has officially canceled the July 1st Outlaw Music Festival concert in El Reno, Oklahoma, citing unforeseeable circumstances that have disrupted the milestone 10th anniversary tour.

The highly anticipated event was scheduled to take place at the Lucky Star Amphitheater, with an all-star lineup that included Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, The Mavericks, and Tami Neilson. Fans from across the state had been eagerly preparing for what was set to be a historic celebration of music and legacy.

But nature had other plans.

According to an official statement from Nelson’s team, an extreme weather event struck Ridgedale, Missouri, on the evening of June 29, bringing torrential rains and strong winds that forced the crowd at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena to evacuate. As a result, much of the festival’s touring equipment and artists’ instruments were damaged and waterlogged, leaving organizers with insufficient time to ensure the gear was safe and functional for the next stop in Oklahoma.

“Unfortunately, the extent of the damage made it impossible to move forward with tomorrow’s show,” the statement read. “The team is working hard to recover and replace the necessary equipment so the tour can resume safely.”

Despite the cancellation, the Outlaw Music Festival tour is expected to resume in Austin, Texas on July 4, bringing renewed energy and music to fans just in time for Independence Day.
