Woman Throws Poor Old Man Out of Luxury Hotel — You Won’t Believe Where He Ends Up the Next Day
|Jeremy, an elderly man from Texas, traveled to New York to meet his daughter. He spent all his money on a night at a luxurious 5-star hotel in Manhattan, hoping to be close to her.
After a long journey, Jeremy arrived at the hotel and was immediately noticed by other guests. They complained about him, mainly because of his smell. As a result, the hotel asked Jeremy to leave.
The next day, the hotel decided to offer Jeremy a special surprise. They gave him a free stay in their presidential suite, the most luxurious room in the hotel. It was a gesture to make up for the trouble he faced.
“Have you downgraded your security? How can you just let anybody in here?” a man complained.
“The hotel lobby usually smells divine, but today, it smells like a dumpster,” his wife added.
Hearing these complaints, the hotel receptionist approached Jeremy. “Sir, you are distracting our guests. Could you please leave the hotel and wait somewhere else?” she asked.
Jeremy responded, “No, I need to wait here. I have a meeting with my daughter.”
The receptionist insisted, “I’m sure your daughter wouldn’t mind if you waited somewhere else. If you don’t leave, I’ll have to call security.”
Jeremy, looking worried, said, “I’m waiting for my daughter. She works here.”
The receptionist was skeptical and asked, “What’s your daughter’s name?”
Jeremy replied that his daughter was Samantha Jennings, the hotel director. Her eyes widened in surprise.
Jeremy argued that he had a room booked under his name. He showed an album and a reservation slip as proof, but the security guards were already removing him from the hotel.
“If you’d just listen to me, I have every right to be here!” Jeremy protested, but the security guards warned him not to return or they would call the police.
Feeling hopeless, Jeremy cried as he was kicked out. All he wanted was to see his daughter, but the staff had turned him away.
Later that night, Samantha Jennings arrived at the hotel. The receptionist told her about the man who had been waiting and claimed to be her father. Samantha thought about all the times she had asked her late mother about her dad, hoping to meet him someday. “Could it be him?” she wondered.
Samantha asked, “Where did he go?” She wasn’t sure if the man was really her father, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to rest until she found out.
The receptionist explained that Jeremy had been kicked out due to complaints about his smell. “The security guards might know where he went,” she said.
Determined, Samantha spent the entire night searching for Jeremy with the help of security. The head of security gave her a description: “He was wearing a black shirt and a distinct purple rain jacket.”
Samantha drove around Manhattan, looking for the man. Just as the sun was about to rise, she spotted an old man fitting the description, lying on a bench. He was awake but seemed lost in thought.
Samantha approached him and said, “Excuse me, sir. It’s cold out. Please, get inside the car.”
Jeremy was amazed to see Samantha, his daughter, standing in front of him. “Is it you, my dear daughter? I’m sorry, I tried waiting at your hotel, but they sent me out. I had no phone, so I just walked around and ended up here.”
Samantha quickly got him into her car and said, “Let’s go back to the hotel. You must be hungry.” Once they were settled at the hotel’s café, Jeremy pulled out some papers to explain his past.
“My name is Jeremy Hopkins,” he started. “Your mother and I were together for ten years until you were about six months old. I was offered a job in Europe with a good salary, so I decided to take it. I left, thinking the opportunity was too good to pass up.”
Jeremy continued, showing Samantha a photo of him with her mother. “While I was there, I got caught up in the European lifestyle and told your mother I wasn’t coming back. I asked for a divorce. It was the worst mistake of my life.”
Jeremy continued, “When the flour mill company I worked for closed a few years ago, I reached out to your mother. I wanted to know if it was too late to start over. She told me it was too late but said we’d meet again at the right time.”
Jeremy paused, then added, “Before your mother passed away a month ago, she wrote me a letter. She knew how to find me and let me know about you. She told me you were my daughter and that you were a successful businesswoman running one of the top hotels in Manhattan. I couldn’t be prouder.” He handed Samantha a small photo album.
As Samantha flipped through the album, she saw photos of herself—photos that matched those in her own album at home. With a lump in her throat, Samantha spoke, “I always asked Mom where my dad was, but she never told me. I had assumed you were gone.”
Samantha looked at Jeremy with tears in her eyes. “I’ve always wanted to meet you, but I thought it was a lost cause because Mom didn’t like talking about you. I didn’t know she had reached out to you before she passed away. She was listening after all.”
Jeremy squeezed his daughter’s hand and said, “I’m so happy to see you, Samantha. I don’t expect you to forgive me for leaving, but I came here to wish you a happy birthday. I had booked a room for us to celebrate, but they wouldn’t accept my reservation slip when I was thrown out. Maybe we can celebrate together another time.”
Samantha shook her head and replied, “I forgive you, Dad. You had your reasons back then. I would love to get to know you and spend more time with you.”
After their heartfelt conversation, Samantha and Jeremy went to the reception area. Samantha addressed the receptionist firmly. “We are an inclusive hotel! We don’t discriminate against customers based on their appearance,” she said, making it clear that such behavior was unacceptable.
