Kate Beckinsale finally reveals the story of how Keanu Reeves saved her – ‘absolute legend’
|Actor Keanu Reeves holds a stellar reputation in Hollywood, known not only for his reserved demeanor but also for his considerate care of those around him. Actress Kate Beckinsale recently shared an anecdote revealing Reeves’ chivalrous gesture from years ago.
Beckinsale and Reeves share a longstanding friendship, and the actress reminisced about an incident during her Cannes Film Festival debut in 1993.
Attending the premiere for Kenneth Branagh’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” she recalled a wardrobe malfunction involving a bodysuit she had purchased at the airport’s Sock Shop.
As Beckinsale, alongside Denzel and Pauletta Washington, headed to the premiere, the poppers in the bodysuit malfunctioned, causing an embarrassing situation.
Unable to address the issue discreetly in the car, Beckinsale approached Reeves and Robert Sean Leonard, whispering about the mishap. In a photo capturing the moment, Reeves is seen smiling as he assists his co-star.
Sharing the story on Instagram, Beckinsale praised Reeves and Leonard as “absolute legends,” emphasizing their swift and unquestioning support, even if they may not have fully grasped the situation.
Reeves’ gentlemanly demeanor extends beyond his interactions with co-stars. In his successful professional life, “John Wick: Chapter 4” became the franchise’s highest-grossing film, contributing to the series surpassing the billion-dollar mark in box office earnings.
Reeves, known for expressing gratitude to his movie crews, gifted a stunt team personalized Rolex Submariner watches and commemorative shirts highlighting the number of times each member’s character was killed in the film.
Despite his success, Reeves keeps his personal life private. In a rare interview with PEOPLE, he spoke about the happiness he shares with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant.
Describing a recent moment of bliss, Reeves reflected on an intimate time spent together: “A couple of days ago with my honey. We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
