You Won’t Believe What This Dad of Three Did with His Last $2!
|No matter how tough things get, there’s always hope. That hope came for a kind-hearted man who gave up his children’s lunch money to help a stranger.
Raffael used to have a good life with a high-paying job as a manager. He lived in a nice apartment in Oakland with his wife and kids. But everything changed when his wife got very sick. Her treatment was expensive, and Raffael had to sell their home to pay for it. Despite all his efforts, his wife passed away, leaving him and the kids with nowhere to live. Raffael had quit his job to care for his wife, and now, he couldn’t find full-time work. He and his kids ended up living in a tent community and struggled to survive.
One day, Raffael and his kids went to a gas station to buy cheap hot dogs for lunch. There, he noticed a family in trouble. Hesitant at first, he approached them and asked if they needed help. The man explained that his wife was in labor, and they were trying to get to the hospital but had run out of gas. They had forgotten their wallets and needed some money to buy gas.
Raffael, with only $2 to his name, handed it over to the man. “Alright, sir. I only have $2, but you can have it,” Raffael said. The man was very grateful and asked for Raffael’s contact information so he could repay him. Raffael gave him his phone number, and the family rushed off to the hospital.
The next morning, Raffael was woken up by the sound of two jeeps. Some men gave him a letter, asking him to be at a certain place at a specific time that day. When he got there, he saw the man he had helped, Luis, who turned out to be the owner of a successful company. Luis told Raffael that he was looking for a business partner and wanted it to be Raffael.
Raffael was surprised and asked if Luis wouldn’t prefer a financially stable partner. Luis replied, “Money, eh? That rich man in a Lexus wouldn’t even offer me a few bucks to pay for petrol before you showed up. You gave me your last few bucks. That’s more important than any sum of money. I want to put more heart into my business, not just more money.” Raffael accepted the offer.
Soon, Raffael was able to rent an apartment for his family and even help some of the people he had lived with in the tent community by offering them jobs at the new company.
Raffael never imagined that his small act of kindness would change his life forever.
