“Faith found it hard to fit in,” Mykesha reminisced. “It was a tough adjustment for her. Fiona just walked up and said, ‘Hi, do you want to be friends? Want to jump rope?’ Faith replied affirmatively, and they quickly bonded.
The girls soon became inseparable, earning the affectionate nickname ‘FiFi,’ and were described by Robinson as ‘two peas in a pod.’ Mykesha characterized Fiona as ‘sweet, loving, and exceptionally kind.’

After completing elementary school, Fiona and Faith eventually attended different middle schools, leading to a natural drift in their friendship. Nonetheless, their bond left a lasting influence on both families. Fiona was the middle child of Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, who have two other daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Kim was a regular presence at the school, volunteering and participating in events, while Chad was remembered by Mykesha as a grounded father, despite his career in Hollywood.
“She contributed a lot to service work and was very involved at school,” Mykesha shared. “She served as the class historian, capturing photos of the kids and attending all events. She was always there.”
The Family Faced Displacement
In January 2025, the Lowe family was among those whose lives were dramatically altered by the catastrophic Palisades Fire. This disaster obliterated their home in Pacific Palisades, forcing them to evacuate, and left behind the place where the girls had spent their formative years.
The fire, intensified by strong Santa Ana winds, swept through the coastal community between Santa Monica and Malibu, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals and the destruction of countless buildings.
For Fiona and her sisters, the loss transcended mere physical destruction; their family home, along with many cherished memories and possessions, was forever altered. Following the evacuation, Chad shared pictures of Mabel, Fiona, and Nixie visiting the devastated site in protective gear.
“Almost a month after we evacuated, the girls finally returned to see what remained of their home,” he wrote in February 2025. He expressed admiration for his daughters’ resilience in the wake of the tragedy, stating, ‘I am in awe of their spirit and strength.’
‘The way they have coped with such a devastating experience is remarkable. Helping them through these tough times is my main focus. Being their father is my greatest joy and privilege.’”
The Impact of the Palisades Fire on Fiona
Mykesha believes that the fire represented more than just a difficult chapter for the family. Reflecting on Fiona specifically, she indicated that the incident had a significant emotional impact on the young girl. ‘Something changed in Fiona after the fires,’ Robinson expressed. ‘They lost everything.’
Mykesha mentioned, ‘I’ve been in tears over this situation,’ explaining that she discovered Fiona’s death through social media and hasn’t received a response from Kim since she reached out. The fire also devastated the school they both attended, marking an unforgettable loss not just for the family but for a site related to Fiona’s early years.
Fiona’s Return to Dance
Despite losing their home, Fiona persevered with something that brought her joy: dance. Her instructor, Kendra Andrews, remembered seeing Fiona return to the studio following the fire.

‘Your enthusiasm and drive were beautiful to witness,’ she added. ‘FiFi, I love you more than I can express.’ She also mentioned that their hearts were shattered, stating, ‘It was a privilege to teach you, share laughter with you, and observe your growth. Our hearts are broken, and life won’t be the same without you. I will always miss and love you.’
Fiona’s Last Instagram Post Reflected Her Love for Dance
Dance was also a prominent theme in one of Fiona’s last public social media posts. In August, she shared an Instagram Reel of herself dancing, captioning it, ‘Some fun turns from yesterday!💕✨🔥 DW: @joandjax and @lululemon.’

Her Family Remembers the Person Behind the Headlines
Fiona’s community remembers her as much more than the tragic circumstances of her passing. Schoolmates described her as ‘sweet, gentle, and kind,’ while another source noted her ‘artistic spirit.’
Many of her friends chose to stay home from school after her death, as classmates grappled with the loss. Meanwhile, her family has continued to share memories of the girl they cherished. Her grandfather, Chuck Lowe, posted a touching tribute featuring a photo of his granddaughter swimming, with a simple yet heartfelt message: ‘Rest in peace, dear Fiona.’
Fiona’s older sister, Mabel, also shared a series of childhood images and videos of the sisters together. One slide in the carousel showcased moments of play, dress-up, outdoor activities, and the joys of growing up together.

‘I like three colors,’ Fiona replied matter-of-factly, ‘but my absolute favorite is light pink, like the shade of new ballet shoes.’


Chad had once celebrated Fiona’s teenage milestone in November 2025 with a loving birthday note. ‘Happy birthday to Fiona, officially a teen today!! Keep dancing through life, FiBear! Love you soooo much!!’
