Emma Roberts and Cody John, recognized for his performance in “Midsommar,” have tied the knot during a charming outdoor ceremony held in Sun Valley, Idaho.
The celebration occurred at the groom’s family property, where close friends and family gathered amidst towering trees, stunning mountain scenery, and the warm light of late summer.
Though the couple opted for a private ceremony, recently shared photos offer a glimpse into the day, documenting emotional family moments, heartfelt embraces, and the couple’s initial moments as newlyweds.
As reported by Page Six, the ceremony spanned about 45 minutes despite the intense heat, with temperatures soaring to around 95 degrees. Guests were seated along a floral-lined pathway as Emma made her way down the aisle under a clear sky.

Emma was joined by her five-year-old son, Rhodes Hedlund, who held her hand as they walked down the aisle together.

While Julia celebrated alongside family in Sun Valley, Emma’s father, Eric Roberts, was notably absent. Neither Emma nor Eric has publicly commented on his absence.
However, Eric conveyed his support for Emma’s marriage in a statement to Page Six, declaring, “I love my daughter, always have, always will.”
He further mentioned, “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.” Eric has been open about his relationship with both Emma and Julia over the years.
In a 2018 Vanity Fair interview, he clarified that he would not describe his relationship with Julia as having a ‘falling-out.’

In preparation for her wedding, Emma worked closely with designer Monique Lhuillier to create a gown that reflected her love for vintage styles.
During a fitting discussion with Vogue, Emma shared that she didn’t begin with a specific design in mind, focusing instead on the emotion she wanted the dress to evoke.
Emma explained, “I didn’t really know what I wanted. I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”
Opting out of a traditional bright white gown, Emma chose a custom tea-toned fabric that matched her antique vision. ‘I kind of wanted to look like a ghost—a little antique ghost doll,’ she noted.
Bringing this vision to life took nine months and nearly 1,000 hours of labor. Monique used approximately 25 yards of silk chiffon dyed in a unique shade called ‘antique rose,’ which honored Emma’s middle name.
The final gown featured a structured corset beneath elegantly draped fabric, along with a removable lace shawl and versatile styling options that transitioned effortlessly from the ceremony to the evening’s celebration.
Seeing her completed dress exceeded Emma’s expectations: ‘I said I wanted to look like a ghost, and they made it beautiful.’
She humorously mentioned that while Cody would have supported any outfit she chose, she knew he would appreciate the final design. ‘He wouldn’t care if I wore jeans,’ she said. ‘But he’s definitely going to adore this.’
Pre-Wedding Photos Sparked Online Buzz
The wedding weekend garnered attention beyond the ceremony, particularly with photos showing Emma in a short white bridal dress and a matching headband while walking through town with Cody.
In several pictures, she is seen smoking a cigarette, while another captures her lifting the hem of her dress during their sidewalk stroll. These candid moments quickly sparked discussions on social media.
