Details regarding the cause or location of her death have not been disclosed by her family.

U.S. media outlets reported that both Hayden and her on-again, off-again partner, Brian Hickerson, had departed Los Angeles on Saturday.

Authorities were allegedly responding to an ‘incident’ related to the actress when they found her, and investigations are currently ongoing.

Originally from New York, Hayden made her acting debut as an 11-month-old when her mother took her to appear in various TV commercials.

Her first significant role came at the age of four when she appeared in the American soap opera One Life to Live.

The talented actress remained active in the television and film industry throughout her life.

She made her film debut at nine, voicing the character Princess Dot in the animated Pixar film A Bug’s Life released in 1998.

This role earned her a Young Artist Award nomination and a Grammy Award nomination, making her the fifth-youngest ever Grammy nominee.

Beyond her film work, Hayden is widely recognized for her leading roles on television.

She portrayed cheerleader Claire Bennet in the Emmy-winning series Heroes, which aired from 2006 to 2010, featuring in 73 episodes.

Later, she received two Golden Globe nominations for her role as Juliette Barnes on Nashville, where she appeared in 128 episodes from 2012 to 2018.

Hayden had openly discussed her battles with mental health and addiction, but she had remained sober since 2020 after undergoing weeks of rehabilitation.

A significant episode of postpartum depression led her to relinquish custody of her daughter, Kaya, 11, back in 2018.

She shares Kaya with her former fiancé, retired Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship from 2009 to 2018.

The couple, who had a 14-year age difference, were engaged in 2013 but broke up before they could marry.

Earlier this year, she expressed her heartbreak over giving up her daughter, stating, ‘The idea that anybody would think that I would just give away my child and be okay with it is heartbreaking.’

‘It couldn’t be further from the truth.’

‘I was struggling with mental health and anxiety and postpartum depression, and having to act my way through it, and just feeling like I completely lost myself.’

The actress was deeply affected by the loss of her younger brother, Jansen, 28, who passed away in 2023 due to an ‘enlarged heart.’

Reflecting on her life in 2024, she remarked, ‘When something that massive has happened to you, you really learn to pick your fights and just not let the little things upset you.’

‘Because once something so horrific, so deep, so catastrophic happens in your life, there’s not much that can really rock you.’

In a poignant final social media post just weeks before her passing, she celebrated ‘good times and good friends.’

This post was made on July 27, just 21 days prior to her death, showing her smiling with photographer Randall Slavin in a joyful moment.

In response to the news of her death, Slavin shared a heartfelt message this morning: ‘Peace be with you.’
