Husband Returns from Business Trip and Sees Newborn Baby Two Notes Left Him Speechless!

Kyle Greenbecker lost his wife and his old life after being accused of fathering a baby left on his doorstep.

Kyle had spent a year working on an oil pipeline in Alaska, and he was finally heading home to his wife, Lisa. They had been together since high school, and Kyle never regretted marrying her at nineteen.

He was proud that Lisa was the only woman he had ever been with. He never wanted anyone else and never thought Lisa would doubt him.

When his plane landed, Kyle grabbed his luggage and looked for Lisa, but she wasn’t there. He assumed she was caught up at work, so he texted her to say he was coming home, but she didn’t reply. He took an Uber, and an hour later, he was walking to his front door.

The lights were on, but Lisa wasn’t inside. When Kyle walked into the kitchen, he was shocked. On the table was a bassinet with a tiny baby inside. The baby waved its arms, staring at Kyle, who was just as confused.

Next to the baby, there were two notes. The first, in unfamiliar handwriting, said:

“You had your fun, now take responsibility for your child.”

The second was from Lisa:

“Kyle, I found this baby on our doorstep with that note. I always suspected you cheated on your trips, and I didn’t hold it against you—I had my own fun while you were away. But leaving me with another woman’s child is too much.

I’ve filed for divorce, and I never want to see you again.

P.S. Don’t worry about the baby. I waited until I saw you arriving before I left. Enjoy your life, Kyle, because I plan to enjoy mine.”

Kyle sat down, overwhelmed. He had never cheated, and this baby wasn’t his!

A small sound made him look up. The baby was reaching out, and when he brought his hand closer, she grabbed his finger tightly.

“Well, baby,” Kyle said. “I guess it’s just us now, and I have no idea what to do!”

The baby gurgled happily before suddenly turning bright red. A certain smell quickly explained what had happened.

Kyle searched the floor and found a backpack with baby supplies inside. He looked up a video tutorial on how to change a diaper and followed the steps. However, the video didn’t show a baby kicking and making a mess!

After cleaning her up, Kyle realized she was a girl. “I don’t know much about girls,” he admitted. “But I can teach you to ride a bike.”

At that moment, Kyle made a decision—he was going to keep this baby.

He picked her up and said, “You need me, and I guess I need you too. How about that?”

Kyle then prepared baby formula and fed her. “You need a name,” he mused. “How about Celeste? Or Lily?”

He chose Lily, and before he knew it, he had settled into fatherhood. There were tough moments, but he and Lily figured things out. He officially registered her as his daughter and enrolled her in daycare. He considered the day he found her as her birthday.

Two years later, on Lily’s birthday, Kyle’s world was turned upside down again.

A woman knocked on his door. “I’ve come for my baby,” she announced.

Kyle stared at her. She was tall, blonde, and had obvious plastic surgery.

“Your what?” he asked.

“My baby,” she repeated. “I left her here two years ago. I was a little high at the time and mixed up my boyfriend’s house with yours. You know how it is!”

Kyle frowned. “No, I don’t. I’ve never abandoned a baby.”

“Look,” the woman said, irritated. “I figured it out a week later when Burt wouldn’t take my calls. But now I need that baby!”

Kyle narrowed his eyes. “Why do you need her?”

“Burt just signed a Major League contract,” she said. “And that baby is going to get me some of those millions!”

Kyle slammed the door in her face, but he knew this wasn’t over.

A week later, he was summoned to family court. The woman, whose name was Cherish Vegas, was contesting his adoption of Lily.

Suddenly, Kyle was being investigated. Social workers visited him at odd hours, and his friends and coworkers were questioned. It was clear Cherish was after Burt’s money.

Finally, the court date arrived. Kyle handed Lily to a social worker and entered the courtroom. Cherish was there, along with a tall man with Lily’s blue eyes—this had to be Burt.

Cherish sobbed, claiming she had changed and regretted her wild college days.

The judge looked unimpressed. “By ‘in his care,’ you mean you left the baby on his porch, correct?”

Cherish turned red. “I’m still her mother!” she snapped.

The judge turned to Burt. “Are you ready to take responsibility for this child?”

Cherish jumped in. “Of course he is! He just signed a three-million-dollar contract!”

The judge raised an eyebrow. “Ah, so that’s what this is about!”

Then she asked, “Miss Vegas, what is your daughter’s name?”

“Her name?” Cherish stammered. “She’ll take her daddy’s name, of course!”

Kyle stood up. “Your Honor, may I speak?”

“Go ahead, Mr. Greenbecker.”

Kyle took a deep breath. “My daughter’s name is Lily, and she already has her father’s name—mine. From the moment she came into my life, I have loved her, and she loves me.”

At that moment, Lily noticed Kyle standing. “Daddy!” she called, stretching out her arms.

The judge smiled. “Well, it seems the most important person in this case has made her decision.”

She banged her gavel. “I officially grant Kyle Greenbecker full custody and adoption rights over Lily. Case closed.”

That night, Kyle and Lily celebrated. They spent the evening outside, catching fireflies.

Kyle smiled. For him, the brightest star in the sky was his little girl.
