Kelly Clarksons Daughter Opens Up About a Touching Memory of Her Mom On Her Talk Show

Perhaps the most heartfelt moment of the finale came from Clarkson’s two kids, who were present in the audience.

She invited her 12-year-old daughter River and 10-year-old son Remington to share their favorite memories from their time on set. Remington reminisced about his debut on stage, where he sang Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ alongside Clarkson’s house band.

In contrast, River’s cherished memory was touching in a unique way, leaving Clarkson momentarily speechless.

When River took her turn to share, she expressed to her mom, ‘I like watching you shine every single day.’

Clarkson, visibly moved by her daughter’s words and the audience’s reaction of ‘aw’s, turned away for a moment to compose herself. ‘You got me. You just Oprah’ed me on my own show,’ she told River, before bringing both children onto the stage for the closing moments.

Clarkson has frequently stated that being a mother is her top priority, which played a significant role in her decision to conclude The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2026.

River and Remington’s father, Clarkson’s ex-spouse Brandon Blackstock, passed away after battling cancer in 2025 at the age of 48. In the months preceding his death, Clarkson devoted considerable time away from her show and musical commitments to support her children.

While announcing her choice to end the show, she indicated that it felt ‘necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.’

During the final episode, Clarkson discussed on stage the significance of being present for her children.

‘My kids have always been my top consideration. They’re one of the main reasons I started this show, providing stability with the schedule,’ she remarked. ‘They’re also a major factor in why it’s time to say farewell. I’m immensely proud of them; they’re the best kids in the world.’

Titled ‘Kelly Clarkson by Request,’ the last episode allowed fans to request various ‘Kellyoke’ performances. Clarkson performed her own hits like ‘Since U Been Gone,’ ‘Sober,’ and ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).’

She also covered ‘Golden’ from KPop band Demon Hunters, which has been the most requested ‘Kellyoke’ song in the show’s history, according to social media.

Additionally, she introduced her latest single, ‘I’d By Lyin’,’ during the episode.

As the episode wrapped up, Clarkson imparted a message of positivity to her viewers.

‘While we must accept that life is often beyond our control, each moment is shaped by how we choose to respond or react to it,’ she stated. ‘You don’t have to participate in the negative atmosphere you were invited into.’

‘If you remind yourself daily that you have the power to choose how to respond and to be true to who you really are, I assure you that this habit will become part of you, and your life will reflect that in return,’ she concluded.
