“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are happy to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57 p.m., at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London,” the statement said.

The baby weighed 4 pounds and 5 ounces at birth.

“The King, Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have been told and are very happy with the news,” the Palace added.

The statement continued: “Princess Beatrice and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the hospital staff for their wonderful care.

“Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family is enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.”

The arrival of Athena Elizabeth Rose is a happy moment for the Royal Family, and many people have congratulated the couple—especially praising the baby’s name.

“How wonderful. A beautiful baby and a lovely name,” one Instagram user wrote. Another added: “As a Greek, I really love this beautiful Greek name.”

“Aww, such wonderful news!! I absolutely love her name,” a third person commented. “Welcome to the world, baby Athena.”

In Greek mythology, Athena was the goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts.

Beatrice and Edoardo already have a three-year-old daughter, Sienna. Edoardo also has an eight-year-old son, Christopher Woolf, called Wolfie, from a previous relationship.

The couple, who are not working royals, got married in July 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Great Park. They welcomed Sienna in September of the following year.

The new baby will be 11th in line to the throne, after Sienna and Beatrice, moving Princess Eugenie to 12th place.

Like her older sister, Athena will not have an HRH title or a royal title.

A huge congratulations to the couple!
