Rachael Rays New Instagram Cooking Video Has Fans Worried
Following previous public appearances that triggered health-related inquiries, Rachael Ray’s most recent video has reignited these discussions, prompting thousands of online viewers to share their thoughts.
A new cooking tip from Rachael Ray has unexpectedly escalated beyond its intended purpose. Instead of focusing on her advice, many fans centered their attention on Ray herself, sparking fresh concern across social media.
On July 8, Ray advised home cooks to rely on their instincts instead of measuring spoons when seasoning dishes.

In her post, she stated, ‘Your hand is the original measuring spoon. As you season, don’t overthink it. A small pinch or a touch of confidence is all you need to cook intuitively. Your food will appreciate it. 🤌🏻’
Cooking Advice That Became the Focus
In her video, Ray showcased what she calls the ‘hand measure,’ explaining that a light palmful of food is about the size of a tablespoon. She remarked, ‘The hand measure. A scant palmful equals roughly a tablespoon. I find it excessive and unnecessary to use a bunch of tiny measuring tools unless I’m baking.’

She added, ‘That’s a specific art form that requires precise measurements. This isn’t that; just relax a little. You can measure using your hand. I mean, really.’

Viewers Shift Focus from Cooking to Appearance
While the video aimed to promote a straightforward kitchen hack, many viewers quickly diverted their focus to Ray’s appearance, flooding the comments with concern and questions.

One Instagram user questioned, ‘Is that really her?’ Another commented, ‘What happened to Rachel’s face?!?’ A third observer wrote, ‘Wow. Didn’t recognize her. A lot of weight. Hope she gets help.’
Similar reactions appeared on Facebook following the video’s release there, with one viewer expressing disbelief, ‘That’s Rachel???!! I’m speechless! What happened?!’ Another wrote, ‘Oh wow, didn’t recognize her at all.’ A third person simply asked, ‘What happened to her face?’
Concerns Resurface from Previous Instances
These latest reactions come after a previous incident that captured significant attention last year. In May 2025, fans expressed worry after Ray shared a Mother’s Day video, with some believing she seemed to slur her words.

An unnamed insider reportedly conveyed that those close to the television personality had grown increasingly alarmed. The source claimed, ‘People around Rachael are very concerned. She’s isolated herself and lives a very private life.’ They further noted, ‘She appears lost, and when anyone reaches out, she doesn’t respond.’ Additionally, they commented:
‘Rachael was always meticulous about her appearance, and it’s very revealing and worrisome that she seems indifferent now. This suggests a larger issue.’

The report highlighted that Rachael had previously mentioned suffering from ‘a couple of bad falls’ while handling firewood. It also pointed out her return to television with new seasons of Meals in Minutes after her long-running talk show concluded in 2023.

Past Health Speculations
Rumors regarding Ray’s health are not new. Back in 2008, reports emerged suggesting she had a throat cancer scare that would require surgery, sidelining her from television for months.
However, a spokesperson for Ray, Charlie Dougiello, refuted those claims, asserting that she was ‘the picture of health.’ He explained that she was undergoing a minor procedure to remove a benign cyst from one of her vocal cords.

According to reports, another source indicated she was ‘totally fine’ and had not been feeling unwell. Ray had also shared that she had faced vocal cord issues for years after regularly experiencing croup as a child.
‘She’s completely fine. It’s just a matter of something she needs to address. She hasn’t been feeling ill.’
The current concerns are not the first time Ray has been the subject of online speculation. Earlier this year, the celebrity chef spoke out against rumors suggesting she had quietly retreated from the public eye.

During an interview with Us Weekly at the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival’s Burger Bash in October 2025, Ray dismissed claims that she had gone ‘off the radar.’ Instead, she clarified that her focus had simply shifted to new projects.

Since her talk show’s conclusion in 2023, Ray has concentrated on Free Food Studios, the production company she founded shortly after the show ended. In 2024, she secured a significant partnership with A+E Networks, which acquired a 50 percent share in her company.
This collaboration resulted in the creation of two new series: ‘Rachael Ray’s Meals in Minutes,’ now in its third season, and ‘Rachael Ray in Tuscany.’ The deal encompasses 110 fresh episodes featuring Ray and other chefs under the Free Food Studios label.
Ray mentioned that she now divides her time between her residences in upstate New York and Tuscany, where she films with a small crew, providing a more personal glimpse into her daily life.
Her transition to digital and streaming platforms may have contributed to the confusion surrounding her visibility. Ray explained:
‘I work tirelessly, and I never left. I just switched to A+E and new collaborations, that’s all. I’ve been busy continuously. Since leaving the daytime show, I began writing nonstop and producing shows with my friends.’
She added, ‘I’m unsure why people thought I disappeared.’ Ray indicated that the lack of promotional visibility could have led to this misunderstanding.

Ray actively maintains a strong online presence, regularly sharing clips of her cooking at home, podcast appearances, moments from food festivals, and lighthearted updates featuring her dog, Bella.
She clarified that her shows, along with other productions from Free Food Studios, are available on platforms like YouTube, Hulu, and FYI, although the rotation of episodes across these sites might complicate viewer access.
Additionally, Ray addressed another frequently raised topic online: her marital status. She confirmed she remains married, sharing that she and her husband, musician John Cusimano, recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in Italy.
Cusimano continues to make appearances on her shows, crafting cocktails, while Ray’s sister, Maria Betar, joins her for baking segments.
Whether she’s filming in her kitchen, producing new shows, or offering cooking advice online, Ray remains a focal point of attention. This time, however, it wasn’t her cooking tip that generated buzz, but rather the video itself, which drew a fresh wave of reactions across social media.
