Single Mom’s Life in Ruins After Air Fryer Explosion—What Happened Will Shock You!
|A single mother lost everything after her air fryer exploded and set fire to her home.
Angel Carpenter, 23, thought it was a joke when she got a call at around 11 a.m. on January 24, saying her house was on fire.

When she returned, she found her home destroyed, along with all her furniture and her daughter Frankie’s clothes and toys. Frankie is just 15 months old.
Shocking photos taken after the fire show the terrible damage.
In the kitchen, the oven is covered in ash, and the wallpaper is so burnt that it is peeling off.
The living room has a large hole in the wall, and a door is on the floor after being burned off its hinges.

Firefighters from Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock told Angel that an electrical fault may have caused the fire. They believe this made the air fryer and two other appliances explode.
The fire also burst the water pipes, which helped put out the flames.
Now, Angel’s mother, Emma Carpenter, 43, is trying to raise £4,500 to help her daughter refurnish her home.
Angel, an admin worker from Bridgnorth, Shropshire, said: “They said it could have been a problem with the plug socket or a faulty air fryer.

“So much had melted that they couldn’t tell what started it. Everything I worked for was in that house.
“It was such a shock. I cried for ten hours. It broke me. I lost everything.”
Angel was at work when she got the call from a neighbor telling her that her house was on fire. Frankie was with her grandmother at the time.
She said: “They told me my house was on fire.
“I thought it was a joke. I never expected this. I always double-check that everything is turned off.”
Firefighters had already put out the fire by the time Angel arrived.
She was able to save some clothes, but they smelled of smoke.

Angel said: “I’ve washed them four times, and the smell is still there.
“We managed to save some photos and some of Frankie’s first birthday cards. I’m going to laminate them.”
Sadly, Angel does not have home insurance. She is now staying with her mother until she can repair her house.

She said: “I should have gotten fire insurance or home insurance. You don’t think about it. This doesn’t feel real—it feels like a dream.”
Angel is grateful to everyone who has donated to the fundraiser.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue could not confirm the exact cause of the fire.
They said: “At 11:17 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a house fire in Bridgnorth.

“Two fire crews from Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock were sent. An operations officer was also there.
“The fire crews used two hose reel jets, a covering jet, a ventilation fan, and four breathing apparatus. They also turned off the solar panels, gas, and electricity.”
