Suri Cruise legally severs ties with estranged dad Tom
Suri Cruise has taken the significant step of legally distancing herself from her father.
The 20-year-old, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has officially changed her last name to Noelle, as exclusively reported by Page Six.
Records show that Suri registered to vote in Pennsylvania, where she currently resides, in October 2024 during her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University.
Suri registered in Allegheny County under the name Suri Noelle, suggesting this is now her legal surname.

Pennsylvania courts have confirmed that voters must register using their legal name.
Additionally, it has been established that Suri did not request a name change in Allegheny County, indicating she may have completed the process in New York before starting college.
Before relocating to Pennsylvania, Suri lived in New York with her mother, where requests for name changes are automatically sealed unless specifically requested otherwise.
While the exact moment she adopted Suri Noelle as her legal name remains unclear, she has been publicly using it for several years.

Though Suri, now a rising star, has not maintained a relationship with Tom, 64, for most of her life, she garnered attention for omitting his surname from her graduation pamphlet at LaGuardia High School in June 2024.
Sources indicated at the time that Suri was honoring her mother by using Noelle, which is Holmes’ middle name, in such a meaningful context.
The source also remarked that the young actress aimed to establish her own identity, evade media attention, and start anew in college.

Suri developed an interest in acting during high school, landing the lead role of Morticia Addams in the production of ‘The Addams Family: A New Musical.’ She is now pursuing musical theater at Carnegie Mellon University’s drama program, as recently reported by Page Six.
In March, she performed as Angel in a one-night reading of ‘Cosmic Microwave Background’ at Pittsburgh’s New Hazlett Theater.
This week, she is set to appear in ‘Midsummer!’ — a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ — alongside her fellow students at the Peirce Studio of the Trust Arts Education Center in Pittsburgh.

‘Midsummer!’ is also scheduled to debut in the UK at the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe next month.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed their only child together in April 2006, following their marriage seven months later.
Following the couple’s divorce in August 2012, Suri remained primarily with her mother, who has shared that they essentially grew up together during those years.
Representatives for both Tom and Holmes have yet to respond to inquiries from Page Six.
