Tragic Loss: Tyga’s Mother Passes Away at 53 – Fans Heartbroken!
|The rapper, known for songs like “Rack City” and “Taste,” recently shared sad news with his fans on Instagram. He expressed his deep sorrow and disbelief.
Tyga is grieving the loss of his mother, Pasionaye Nguyen. On February 21, he posted on Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of her passing.
“I been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us. But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart [sic],” he wrote.
“Can’t imagine life without you by my side. You were the best and most supportive person in my life, you always made things better when I felt at my lowest and worst. I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again,” he continued.

Along with his emotional message, the 34-year-old rapper shared a photo of himself holding her hand as she lay in a hospital bed. Tyga did not reveal the cause of death at the time of writing.
Nguyen, born on September 11, 1971, passed away on January 18, 2025. “You took one of your best angels back GOD. I hope you know that,” he wrote, expressing his deep sadness and love for his mother.
She raised Tyga without the help of his father, and the rapper often showed appreciation for her on social media, especially during special occasions.
In 2014, he shared a picture of them on Facebook for Mother’s Day and wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day To the women that always made sure I had food on the table and a roof over my head! #SingleParent. You raised a strong black King! Love You!”

Nguyen received another Mother’s Day tribute in 2015 when Tyga shared a throwback picture of them along with a recent one. He captioned it, “Hope my twin had an amazing Mother’s Day. Blessed to have you in my life.”
He celebrated her again on Mother’s Day in 2016, writing, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom, and to the other moms out there.”
Nguyen, who was of Vietnamese origin, did not often appear in public with her famous son. However, in 2014, she took part in a funny segment called “Words From Your Mother” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
In the segment, she read the lyrics to her son’s hit song “Rack City,” which featured his ex-girlfriend and former Kardashian family friend, Blac Chyna.

Although Tyga and Blac Chyna share a son, they eventually went their separate ways. After their split, Tyga began a highly publicized relationship with Kylie Jenner. His grandmother approved of the new relationship, saying:
“We all love Kylie and think she is so much better for Tyga than Blac… Blac just wasn’t a very nice person, and Kylie comes from a much better family. She is such a sweet, lovely girl and seems to adore Tyga. So we didn’t mind him splitting up from Blac. It was a relief for us all.”
During their relationship, Jenner was seen with Nguyen and her mother at a party. As Jenner sat in Tyga’s lap, they all posed for a photo together.

Even after their breakup, Tyga and Blac Chyna continued co-parenting their son, King Cairo, putting his well-being first. Blac Chyna later shared how time and maturity helped improve their co-parenting relationship.
“I feel like with everything — time heals everything, and people change, and situations change, and you get to see the situation for what it is […],” she said.
“And also too, let’s not leave out King and also co-parenting with Michael (Tyga) too, with King, so I feel like, as long as my kids are good and happy on both sides, that’s all I care about as a parent,” she added.

Tyga has also expressed his pride in being a father, calling it one of his greatest accomplishments. “You don’t owe the world anything, but when you bring a beautiful child like this into the world, you know that you’ve got a lot to live for,” he said.
The rapper welcomed his son in October 2012, and despite his busy lifestyle, fatherhood changed his perspective. “He makes me step back and really enjoy life,” he explained.
