Woman Insists She’s Madeleine McCann—But DNA Results Say Otherwise!

Julia Wendell, a 23-year-old woman from Poland, became famous in 2023 after saying she might be Madeleine McCann—the British girl who disappeared from a holiday resort in Portugal in 2007.

Her shocking claim caused a huge debate, and many people believed she was making it up.

But now, there is another surprising update in the case.

Using the social media name @IamMadeleineMcCann, Julia asked for help and wanted to talk to Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann.

She said she looked like Madeleine and even went on Dr. Phil to tell her story. However, after receiving a lot of hate messages, including threats, she later took back her claims and apologized to the McCanns.

Julia said that during therapy, she realized she had unclear childhood memories, which made her wonder if she had been adopted. When she asked her family, they denied it, so she started looking at missing person websites.

“I never wanted to hurt anyone – including [the] McCanns,” Julia said. “I just wanted to find out who I am.”

She also said that if she had the chance to do it again, she would never have used social media. “It can destroy you,” she added.

But now, Julia Wendell—also known as Julia Faustyna or Julia Wandelt—has made another shocking claim.

According to Daily Mail, Julia says she took a DNA test, and a “world-renowned expert” compared it to DNA from the crime scene where Madeleine McCann went missing in 2007.

This expert reportedly found that the results “strongly suggest” Gerry McCann could be her father. Julia also posted about the test on her new social media account, saying that Kate and Gerry McCann refused to take part in the test.

To add to the drama, the expert also reportedly said that Julia’s DNA is a “perfect match” with samples taken from the holiday apartment where Madeleine McCann disappeared.

Besides the DNA test, Julia says experts also studied her eyes, teeth, and voice, comparing them to Madeleine—the 3-year-old who went missing from her bed in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

Dr. Monte Miller, a forensic expert from Loma Linda University in California, looked at the results.

“The simple answer is that the suspect is not the definitive source of the DNA in the evidence,” Dr. Miller told Metro.

“However, the match is stronger than what I would expect from pure coincidence, and there is a specific pattern that suggests an almost certain family connection.”

Even after these surprising claims, neither Julia’s Polish parents nor the McCanns are willing to take a DNA test to confirm or deny the connection.

This new claim also goes against what private investigator Dr. Fia Johansson said in 2023. At that time, Julia’s DNA results proved she was fully Polish. Her parents say she is their biological daughter and has no link to Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine McCann’s disappearance is one of the most well-known unsolved cases in the world. Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have always said that she was kidnapped after they left her and her siblings alone in their holiday apartment while they ate at a nearby restaurant.
