Couple Fights Over $1.3 Million Jackpot After Brutal Breakup!
|A couple who won over $1 million are now fighting over who gets the money after their breakup.
For most people, winning the lottery is a dream come true.
But for this couple, it quickly turned into a nightmare.

Michael Cartlidge and Charlotte Cox won a huge sum together, but soon after, they started arguing over who had the right to keep it.
Cartlidge, 39, and Cox, 37, from Spalding, UK, won £1 million ($1.3 million) on a Lotto scratch card. But just weeks after their win, their relationship ended.
It was Cox who decided to break up after three months together.
But that led to an even bigger fight—who really owned the $1.3 million?
Cox had bought the scratch card with her own money, and she was the one who scratched it to reveal the winnings.
However, Cartlidge says that he was the one who suggested buying the ticket. He also claims he tried to send Cox the money for it.
At first, the lottery was run by a company called Camelot.

After checking CCTV footage of the couple buying the ticket, Cartlidge says Camelot decided the money should be split.
But later, a different company called Allwyn took over the lottery—and they ruled in Cox’s favor.
Now, Cartlidge is thinking about taking legal action.
“I am in shock,” he told The Sun. “I agree that we wouldn’t have gotten the ticket without Charlotte, but she wouldn’t have bought it without me either. I know she paid for it, but morally, it should be split 50-50.
“We were in the shop, and I went on my bank app because I didn’t have my card. I started the transfer and showed her. You can see me doing this on the shop CCTV, which Camelot has.”
However, someone supporting Cox disagrees.
“One million pounds has never caused so much trouble. It has ruined the last three months for her and her family.”
The source added, “Mike has no right to this money. He is not a nice person. Charlotte won, she paid for the ticket, and she scratched it. The case is closed.”
A spokesperson confirmed to The Sun:
“The National Lottery Rules for Scratchcard Games state that only one person can own a ticket. The prize can only be claimed by the person whose name and address are written on the back of the winning scratch card.
“This means the money can only be paid to one person, and this is always made clear.
“If a winner chooses to share their prize with others, we always recommend having a legal agreement in place.
“If there is no agreement, any disputes must be settled between the people involved.”
Now that’s a messy breakup.
